Golden Hour Fall Family Photos at Paris Mountain State Park

There’s nothing quite like golden hour fall family photos at Paris Mountain State Park. As the sun begins to dip behind the trees, the light turns soft and glowy, wrapping everything in warm tones of gold and amber. Add in the rich fall colors of Paris Mountain—deep reds, burnt oranges, and soft yellows—and it creates the dreamiest backdrop for family photos. This is one of my favorite spots in Greenville, SC for fall sessions because it feels both peaceful and magical, especially at golden hour.

This beautiful family joined me for one of my fall mini sessions at Paris Mountain, and they were such a joy to photograph. Mom and Dad were so loving and relaxed, and their two kids—a 12-year-old boy and a 10-year-old girl—had such sweet, natural personalities. They laughed easily, hugged their parents tightly, and truly enjoyed the moment together. I love photographing families with older kids like this because you can really capture their bond and how close they are in this season of life.

Their outfit choices were perfect for the golden hour glow. Mom wore a stunning deep red patterned dress that complemented the autumn tones around us, while Dad and the kids coordinated in soft greens, denim, and neutral shades. The combination was timeless and cozy—the kind of color palette that will look beautiful framed on their walls for years to come.

We spent the session walking through the woods, soaking in the soft light and capturing those in-between moments that make family photos so meaningful—the laughter, the snuggles, and the glances that say so much without words. Even in a short 15-minute mini session, we were able to tell such a beautiful story of connection and love.
