Fall Mommy and Me Mini Session in Travelers Rest
A cozy, joy-filled session among the golden leaves
There is something so special about a Fall Mommy and Me mini session in Travelers Rest. The golden leaves, the crisp air, and the quiet pockets of nature create the perfect space for moms to slow down, soak in the sweetness of their babies, and be fully present in the moment. This beautiful mama and her little boy joined me for one of my fall minis, and their gallery is truly one of the sweetest from the entire day.
We met in a quiet wooded area just outside Travelers Rest, where the leaves had turned the most beautiful shades of yellow and orange. The soft evening light filtered through the trees, giving everything a warm, cozy glow that made their snuggles and laughter feel even more magical.
A session filled with connection and warmth
From the moment they stepped in front of my camera, this mama and her son were pure joy together. He loved being close to her, and she wrapped him up with the kind of warmth only a mother can give. Their entire session was a beautiful mix of playful moments, sweet snuggles, and those soft, quiet hugs that melt your heart.
Some of my favorite moments from their gallery include:
• The way he tucked into her shoulder during those sweet hugs
• His big, full smile that showed just how loved and safe he feels
• Their little giggles as they played together in the leaves
• That tender moment when he rested his head on her chest
• The two of them sitting close on a blanket, wrapped up in each other
These are the moments that make mommy and me sessions so meaningful. They capture the relationship exactly as it feels right now, in this fleeting season of childhood.
Why Fall Mommy and Me mini sessions are so special
Fall is one of the most beautiful times of year in Travelers Rest. Between the vibrant leaves, the cool air, and the soft golden light, the natural scenery adds such a magical touch to every photo. But even more than that, fall sessions invite families to slow down and savor the little things.
For mamas, especially, it’s a chance to step out from behind the camera and be photographed with their children. These images become heirlooms. They tell the story of love, warmth, and connection in a season that passes far too quickly.
Travelers Rest is the perfect backdrop
Travelers Rest offers some of the most beautiful outdoor spots for fall photos. Tall trees, winding paths, and pockets of color make every corner feel picture perfect. It’s peaceful, never too crowded, and filled with natural beauty that complements the warm tones of autumn.
This session was the perfect example of everything I love about photographing families in this charming little town.

Late Fall Family Photos at Paris Mountain State Park
Late Fall is a beautiful time of year here in Greenville, South Carolina. One of my favorite locations that really shows off the beauty of the autumn colors in the South Carolina Upstate area is Paris Mountain State Park. It’s a beautiful state park full of woods and lakes and beaches and trails. The state park is located right in between Taylors, South Carolina and Travelers Rest, South Carolina. The only downside about this location for family photos is that is can get pretty crowded during the fall. I did have to wait in a little bit of a line to get into the state park for family photos on this particular day. But the park is relatively large with lots of room for all of those families and photographers and hikers and picnicers and boaters. What a lovely fall day for Greenville families to enjoy the last little bit of beautiful fall weather before winter arrives.
This sweet family was my first of the day for my November 9 mini sessions at Paris Mountain State Park. Paris Mountain is the closest South Carolina State Park to the city of Greenville, and it’s one of my favorite places to hold family mini sessions, especially in the fall. The fall colors at Paris Mountain are unbeatable. I loved photographing this family. It was my first time working with them and their kids. They had a six year old daughter and a one year old son. It was so sweet to capture the siblings together. What a fun age gap to capture adorable interactions. It was so clear just how much these two love each other.

But knowing when to schedule your session can make all the difference in capturing those warm, colorful tones that everyone loves.
Here in Greenville, the fall season unfolds a little differently than it does in other parts of the country. While the mountains near Asheville peak earlier, Greenville’s fall colors tend to arrive a bit later — typically between late October and mid-November. That’s when the colors at local favorites like Paris Mountain State Park, Furman University, and Conestee Nature Preserve are at their very best.

Mom and Dad brought their two adorable kids — a six-year-old boy and a four-year-old girl — for a relaxed, joy-filled session surrounded by soft fall color. Fall Childrens Portraits in Greenville, SC
Fall is truly one of the most magical times of year here in Greenville, South Carolina. The trees turn the prettiest shades of gold, orange, and red, and the crisp morning air makes everything feel calm and cozy. It’s one of my favorite times to photograph children — when the light is soft, the colors are rich, and there’s a little hint of excitement in the air.
This session featured the sweetest little sisters, full of laughter and love. They wore matching blush pink outfits with tulle skirts that looked absolutely beautiful against the golden trees. The soft tones of their clothing paired perfectly with the warm fall colors surrounding us at Furman University. We spent the morning running, twirling, and playing near the lake — capturing a mix of posed portraits and natural moments that perfectly show their personalities.
What I love most about photographing children is how genuine every moment is. Their laughter is real, their smiles are pure, and the way they interact with each other is full of love. These two couldn’t stop giggling as they held hands and ran down the boardwalk together. And those tiny kisses on the cheek? Absolute perfection.
Fall sessions like this one are such a beautiful reminder to pause and capture this fleeting season of life. Your little ones will never be this small again — and these photos will become the kind you look back on years from now and smile.

Greenville Fall Mini Session with Peak Fall Colors
The end of October in Greenville, South Carolina, is when the magic of fall really comes alive. While full peak color usually happens in early November, late October in the Upstate is just breathtaking too. The golden yellows, burnt oranges, and bright reds transform every corner of Greenville into the perfect backdrop for family photos. One of my favorite spots to capture this beauty is Furman University; the sidewalks are lined with stunning trees that seem to glow when the sunlight filters through. It’s one of those quintessential fall locations that makes every session feel extra special.
This round of Greenville fall mini sessions featured this sweet family of five; mom, dad, their three adorable kids, and so much laughter. We met on a cool, crisp morning, and the light was absolutely perfect. The older siblings were full of energy and giggles, while their youngest was happiest snuggled up in mom’s arms. I love how relaxed and playful this family was in front of my camera. We spent the session exploring the Timmons Promenade, capturing a mix of posed portraits and candid, joy-filled moments; the kind of photos that truly show their connection and love.
In just fifteen minutes, we captured over a hundred photos; all filled with warmth, laughter, and those fleeting little moments that make family life so sweet. That’s what I love most about mini sessions: they’re short, easy, and full of genuine memories that will last forever.

Best Fall Colors for Family Photos in Greenville
The end of October in Greenville, South Carolina is definitely getting into peak fall color here in the Upstate. Full peak fall colors are usually the first two weeks of November, but late October is definitely beautiful as well. In my humble family photographer opinion, one of the best spots in Greenville to see the fall colors is Furman’s beautiful campus. They have these pretty trees that line the sidewalks and turn golden, orange, and bright red in October and November. The autumn season is so stunning here in Greenville. A photographer couldn’t ask for more beautiful locations to use for family photos.
This round of fall family mini sessions started with the sweet family pictured below. Mom, dad, and their 9 month old baby girl. It was just after sunrise and the lighting was stunning. It was a chilly day. It was truly perfect fall South Carolina weather. There’s no better place to experience fall wether and fall colors than Greenville, SC. We used the Timmons Promenade for these photos. Starting on the walkway and ending on one of the docks overlooking the water. I’m so happy with these sweet fall mini session photos. We ended up with a gallery of 138 photos in just 15 minutes. I love how much variety we are able to capture in such a short amount of time. Mini sessions are always so productive and so much fun.

October Fall Mini Sessions at Furman University
October mornings in Greenville are pure magic. The trees at Furman University begin turning soft shades of gold and red, and the calm reflection on the lake creates the perfect backdrop for fall family photos. This sweet family joined me for one of my October Fall Mini Sessions, and it couldn’t have been a more beautiful morning.
Their two-year-old daughter had just celebrated her birthday, which made this session extra special. She was happiest in her mama’s arms, thumb tucked safely in her mouth, taking in all the new sights around her. These are the little details I love capturing—the quiet, honest moments that tell the story of who your child is right now.
I loved how this family chose soft, neutral outfits that complemented the early fall colors perfectly. The floral prints, deep plum tones, and warm creams blended beautifully with the natural greens and golds of Furman’s landscape. We photographed them walking near the lake, snuggling close, and sharing the sweetest family kisses. The light was soft, the air was cool, and the love between them was so easy to see.
Mini sessions like this are such a wonderful way to capture your family just as you are in this season of life. They’re short and simple, but filled with so much heart. Whether your little one is running, exploring, or just wanting extra snuggles, these photos freeze the sweetest moments you’ll never want to forget.
