Fall Family Photographer in Greenville, SC

There’s just something special about fall in Greenville, South Carolina. The golden leaves, the soft light, and the cozy layers make it one of the most beautiful times of year for family photos. Whether it’s the crunch of leaves under your feet or the way the trees glow at sunset, this season always brings out the most heartfelt moments.

This sweet family joined me for one of my fall mini sessions, and I couldn’t have loved it more. Their two boys were full of laughter and energy, keeping everyone smiling the entire time. We spent the evening playing in the leaves, walking near the water, and soaking in that warm, golden light that makes fall sessions so magical.

I love sessions like this because they capture what family truly feels like — the laughter, the snuggles, and the in-between moments that mean the most. The parents shared the sweetest smiles as they watched their boys run and play, and every photo radiates love, joy, and connection.

As one of the best fall family photographers in Greenville, SC, my goal is always to create more than just pretty pictures — I want to give families timeless, heartfelt memories. Fall Childrens Portraits in Greenville, SC

Fall is truly one of the most magical times of year here in Greenville, South Carolina. The trees turn the prettiest shades of gold, orange, and red, and the crisp morning air makes everything feel calm and cozy. It’s one of my favorite times to photograph children — when the light is soft, the colors are rich, and there’s a little hint of excitement in the air.

This session featured the sweetest little sisters, full of laughter and love. They wore matching blush pink outfits with tulle skirts that looked absolutely beautiful against the golden trees. The soft tones of their clothing paired perfectly with the warm fall colors surrounding us at Furman University. We spent the morning running, twirling, and playing near the lake — capturing a mix of posed portraits and natural moments that perfectly show their personalities.

What I love most about photographing children is how genuine every moment is. Their laughter is real, their smiles are pure, and the way they interact with each other is full of love. These two couldn’t stop giggling as they held hands and ran down the boardwalk together. And those tiny kisses on the cheek? Absolute perfection.

Fall sessions like this one are such a beautiful reminder to pause and capture this fleeting season of life. Your little ones will never be this small again — and these photos will become the kind you look back on years from now and smile.

Greenville Fall Mini Session with Peak Fall Colors

The end of October in Greenville, South Carolina, is when the magic of fall really comes alive. While full peak color usually happens in early November, late October in the Upstate is just breathtaking too. The golden yellows, burnt oranges, and bright reds transform every corner of Greenville into the perfect backdrop for family photos. One of my favorite spots to capture this beauty is Furman University; the sidewalks are lined with stunning trees that seem to glow when the sunlight filters through. It’s one of those quintessential fall locations that makes every session feel extra special.

This round of Greenville fall mini sessions featured this sweet family of five; mom, dad, their three adorable kids, and so much laughter. We met on a cool, crisp morning, and the light was absolutely perfect. The older siblings were full of energy and giggles, while their youngest was happiest snuggled up in mom’s arms. I love how relaxed and playful this family was in front of my camera. We spent the session exploring the Timmons Promenade, capturing a mix of posed portraits and candid, joy-filled moments; the kind of photos that truly show their connection and love.

In just fifteen minutes, we captured over a hundred photos; all filled with warmth, laughter, and those fleeting little moments that make family life so sweet. That’s what I love most about mini sessions: they’re short, easy, and full of genuine memories that will last forever.

Best Fall Colors for Family Photos in Greenville

The end of October in Greenville, South Carolina is definitely getting into peak fall color here in the Upstate. Full peak fall colors are usually the first two weeks of November, but late October is definitely beautiful as well. In my humble family photographer opinion, one of the best spots in Greenville to see the fall colors is Furman’s beautiful campus. They have these pretty trees that line the sidewalks and turn golden, orange, and bright red in October and November. The autumn season is so stunning here in Greenville. A photographer couldn’t ask for more beautiful locations to use for family photos.

This round of fall family mini sessions started with the sweet family pictured below. Mom, dad, and their 9 month old baby girl. It was just after sunrise and the lighting was stunning. It was a chilly day. It was truly perfect fall South Carolina weather. There’s no better place to experience fall wether and fall colors than Greenville, SC. We used the Timmons Promenade for these photos. Starting on the walkway and ending on one of the docks overlooking the water. I’m so happy with these sweet fall mini session photos. We ended up with a gallery of 138 photos in just 15 minutes. I love how much variety we are able to capture in such a short amount of time. Mini sessions are always so productive and so much fun.

October Fall Mini Sessions at Furman University

October mornings in Greenville are pure magic. The trees at Furman University begin turning soft shades of gold and red, and the calm reflection on the lake creates the perfect backdrop for fall family photos. This sweet family joined me for one of my October Fall Mini Sessions, and it couldn’t have been a more beautiful morning.

Their two-year-old daughter had just celebrated her birthday, which made this session extra special. She was happiest in her mama’s arms, thumb tucked safely in her mouth, taking in all the new sights around her. These are the little details I love capturing—the quiet, honest moments that tell the story of who your child is right now.

I loved how this family chose soft, neutral outfits that complemented the early fall colors perfectly. The floral prints, deep plum tones, and warm creams blended beautifully with the natural greens and golds of Furman’s landscape. We photographed them walking near the lake, snuggling close, and sharing the sweetest family kisses. The light was soft, the air was cool, and the love between them was so easy to see.

Mini sessions like this are such a wonderful way to capture your family just as you are in this season of life. They’re short and simple, but filled with so much heart. Whether your little one is running, exploring, or just wanting extra snuggles, these photos freeze the sweetest moments you’ll never want to forget.

The air was chilly and crisp as fall was just beginning to show its beautiful colors of reds, golds, and oranges. In just 15 quick and easy minutes, we capture genuine family photos that you’ll treasure forever. Photos you’ll hang on your walls, print in albums, put on your Christmas cards, and send to family members. Your kids will look back on these photos in 30 years to show their own kids. Family Photos in Cancer Survivor’s Park in downtown Greenville

There’s something so special about photographing families in the heart of downtown Greenville, South Carolina—especially at Cancer Survivor’s Park. This location blends the peacefulness of nature with the modern charm of downtown. The walking paths, open lawns, and bridges surrounded by greenery make it one of my favorite places for family photos.

On this beautiful day, the weather was perfect. Soft sunlight filtered through the trees, and the Reedy River sparkled in the background. This sweet family laughed, cuddled, and played while I captured their connection. I always encourage families to simply enjoy being together—snuggle your little ones, hold hands, walk together—and that’s exactly what they did. The result? Photos that truly feel like them.

Cancer Survivor’s Park offers so much variety in one spot. Between the lush green spaces, stone stairways, and views of Liberty Bridge, we were able to capture both classic portraits and more candid, lifestyle moments. Newborn Videographer in Greer, South Carolina

The tiniest moments are always the ones that make your heart melt — the stretch of their fingers, the sweet yawn, the way your baby fits perfectly in your arms. As a newborn videographer in Greer, SC, I get to help families preserve these fleeting, love-filled memories in a way that feels real and timeless.

When you book a photo and video newborn session, you’re creating an heirloom you’ll treasure forever. At Home Mini Family Mini Session Photographer in downtown Greenville, SC

If you’ve ever dreamed of capturing your family’s love and connection in the place you love most — your home — this session is the perfect inspiration. This sweet family chose to have their mini session right at their newly renovated home in downtown Greenville, and it could not have been more beautiful.

Their white brick home with warm wood accents made the perfect backdrop for cozy, timeless family photos. We spent part of their session on the front steps, where the family laughed and snuggled together, and part of it inside — where the morning light poured through their arched windows. The space felt elegant yet relaxed, and every image captured how loved and cherished their little girl is.

What I love most about at-home mini sessions is how personal they are. Instead of choosing one of my usual outdoor locations, this family decided to make their session extra meaningful by photographing right where their story is unfolding. Whether your home is newly renovated, full of character, or simply the place where your family feels most like you, an at-home session turns your everyday surroundings into the perfect backdrop for memories you’ll treasure forever.

When you book a mini session with Michelle Poteet Photography, you get the flexibility to choose your own location — whether that’s your home, a favorite park, or one of my go-to Greenville spots. These shorter sessions are ideal for families who want a handful of updated photos without the full session time commitment.

If you’ve been thinking about scheduling your next family photos, consider doing them at home. It’s a beautiful way to preserve this season of life right where it’s happening.

Studio Newborn Photographer in Greer, South Carolina

If you’re searching for a studio newborn photographer in Greer, South Carolina, I recently had the sweetest session that perfectly captures why I love studio newborn sessions so much. This precious family of five welcomed their newest baby girl, and the love between them was absolutely beautiful to witness.

With a big sister who’s five and a little brother who’s three, there was no shortage of tender hugs, tiny kisses, and proud smiles. Both older siblings were so gentle with their baby sister — you could just feel how much they already adore her. Watching their little hands softly rest on her swaddle and seeing their excitement when it was their turn to hold her melted my heart.

We photographed this session at Radiant Collective Studio in downtown Greer, a gorgeous natural-light space that’s perfect for newborn sessions. The bright, airy atmosphere and neutral tones made every moment feel calm and timeless. I brought along a few of my favorite wraps and swaddles, and mama chose a beautiful dress from my client closet that fit the studio’s soft, dreamy light perfectly.

One of my favorite parts of this session was photographing the whole family snuggled together — five hearts connected in one frame. These early days of adjusting to life as a family of five can feel like a blur, but through these photos, this sweet family can remember exactly how it felt to welcome their tiny baby girl home.

Whether you’re a first-time parent or growing your family, studio newborn sessions are a wonderful way to capture this season in a relaxed, beautiful environment — no cleaning your house or worrying about light. Just your family, your love, and your baby’s first moments.

If you’re looking for a Greer studio newborn photographer, I’d love to capture these fleeting moments for you. You can learn more about my newborn photo and video sessions or download my newborn session pricing guide for all the details.
