Outdoor Family Photos in Greenville, South Carolina
This is part three in my series of the family photo session I had the opportunity to do for Ellen, Rob, and baby Grady. For the first two parts of the session, we took photos in my in home studio in Taylors. Little Grady ended up falling asleep during our session, so we decided to move to the outdoor portion of the session, so that he could finish his nap in the car on the way to our next location. Ellen and Rob told me they trusted me to choose the location, so I chose my absolute favorite location in the Greenville area, Furman University. This time, I didn't use the Rose Garden. I didn't love the look of all the dead roses since it's January. But right next to the garden, there are beautiful magnolia trees and brick sidewalks that I loved the look of for our session. One of my favorite things about living in South Carolina is that you can find beautiful green nature backdrops all year round.
Enjoy a few of my favorite family photos of Ellen, Rob, and Grady from the outdoor portion of our family photo session on the campus of Furman University here in Greenville, South Carolina. I love these three, and I absolute love all of the photos from this family photo session! I hope you enjoy these photos as much as I do! I can't wait for all of the winter and spring family photoshoots coming up in the near future!

In Studio Family Photos
I was so excited to have the opportunity to work with Ellen and Rob yet again! This was my 4th time getting to work with these two! And this time I got to work with little Grady, too! I got to photograph Ellen and Rob's engagement photos and their wedding photos back in Indiana. Then after I moved to Greenville, South Carolina, Ellen and Rob contacted me again to photograph their maternity photos, since they had moved to Charlotte, North Carolina, which isn't too far away! Now that little Grady is here, these sweet little family of three came back down to Greenville, so that I could photograph a family session for the three of them.
These photos took place in my little home studio. I set up a little rocking chair and table for a little nursery set up. Grady is almost three months old, and he did so amazing for this session! He is such an adorable little man, and he did so amazing looking at the camera. And I even got a few smiles out of him, which doesn't always happen at this age!
I'm so happy with this session of Ellen, Rob, and Grady! It's one of my favorite sessions to date! Enjoy just a few of my favorites from this super fun in studio family photo session! I hope you love these photos as much as I do! I'm so excited to share these photos with you all.

Indoor Family Christmas Photos
Over Christmas, when we went back home for a visit, I had the opportunity to take a few photos for my sister in law, brother in law, and baby nephew. We only had a few minutes on Christmas eve to take these photos, and little Henry was asleep the whole time. But I absolutely LOVE how these photos turned out. My mother in law and father in law have the most beautiful home with the most amazing natural light, which makes such a gorgeous spot to take photos. I was so glad that I brought my camera along to capture these precious moments of a new little family. These are the first professional photos they have had the opportunity to take as a family of three.
We love these three so much! Henry is only a few weeks older than Lily, and it has been so fun to have someone to talk to about all the baby things who is going through all of the same things at the same time. And even though we live states away, it has been so fun to have a cousin for Lily that is her exact same age! And it will only get more and more fun as these two adorable little babies get older and get to spend more time together. I can't wait to watch them become best friends.
Enjoy some of my favorite photos of this cute little Christmas photo session with Hannah, Jack, and baby Henry.

Maternity Photos at Falls Park in Downtown Greenville, South Carolina
I absolutely LOVED working with Hadley and Travis on their maternity photos at Falls Park in downtown Greenville, South Carolina. Hadley is just now 30 weeks pregnant, which is the perfect time frame to take maternity photos. It's the time when your bump is super cute, but you haven't started getting too uncomfortable and swollen yet. You can still walk around taking photos without too much trouble. I always recommend taking maternity photos sometime between weeks 25-32. Another benefit of doing maternity photos during this time frame is that you don't have to worry about missing out on photos if you go into labor early.
Hadley and Travis were so sweet and amazing to work with. I can already tell that they are going to be such great parents to their little baby girl. It's such an exciting time, and I am just so happy for these two. I have a three month old baby girl myself, and I can say that having a newborn baby has been one of the best times of my life. Too many people talk about hard hard the newborn phase is. And I get it, you're not getting enough sleep and you're figuring out how to take care of another human. But not enough people talk about how amazing it is to get to hold your baby ever day while they sleep in your arms or how sweet it is when they smile at you for the first time. Being a parent is the best, and I'm so happy for these two as they embark on such a wonderful journey.
Enjoy a few of my favorite photos from this maternity session!

Downtown Greenville, SC Maternity Photos
I absolutely LOVED having the honor of photographing Erica and Austin’s maternity photos in Downtown Greenville, South Carolina this past weekend. Maternity photos are some of my absolute favorite types of photos to take! It’s always such a special time in the lives of the family, and it means so much to be to be able to document that. This is Erica and Austin’s first baby. Having been through my first pregnancy recently, I completely relate to how exciting it can be when you are expecting your first baby!
Erica wanted a Christmas and Holiday themed maternity photo session, and downtown had so much beautiful Christmas decor for us to use for our photos. We started at the Westin hotel downtown. It was so beautifully decorated for Christmas. We used the huge Christmas tree in the middle of their lobby for photos. And we stopped by one of their large beautiful windows with stunning drapes on the way out. After that, we walked down to the Ready River and stopped and every beautiful spot we saw. The took some photos in front of Greenville’s city Christmas Tree, the beautiful trees in front of the peace center, and then the open air brick building by the river that I love. They all made for some beautiful spots for photos.
I hope you enjoy a few of my favorite photos from Erica and Austin’s maternity photo session in downtown Greenville, South Carolina!

Furman Rose Garden Maternity and Family Photos
I absolutely LOVED having the opportunity to photograph Pamela and her sweet family this past weekend at the Rose Garden on Furman University’s campus. The Furman University Rose garden is one of my absolute favorite spots for family photo sessions and maternity photo sessions. Even though it’s December, there were still beautiful flowers and tons of greenery. Pamela didn’t want it to look too much like fall in her maternity photos, because she wanted her photos to look timeless. Since this will most likely be her last baby, Pamela really wanted to capture everything about this pregnancy as well as her family at this stage in their lives. She is scheduled to have her baby on December 16, so I was so glad we were able to schedule this last minute maternity session before her new baby joins this sweet family.
Although it was a dreary and cloudy day, I LOVE all of the photos from this session SO much! This family was so sweet in the way they all interacted naturally with each other. And getting to photograph pregnant mamas is always such an honor. It’s especially fun to get to photograph the newborn babies when they arrive after getting to photograph their mama’s pregnancy journey with them! It’s always such a special time in the lives of the family.
I hope you enjoy a few of my favorite photos from Pamela’s maternity session and family session! I absolutely LOVED working with this sweet family!

Family Photos at Paris Mountain State Park
I absolutely LOVED working with Kristen and Doug and their two girls on their fall family photos! This family was so sweet and fun! I loved that the kids even came with some fun ideas for photos that they wanted to try based on seeing some of my previous family photos of some of their family friends! This family was so sweet, and I loved the fact that they wanted to use their fall family photo session at Paris Mountain State Park to make some fun, lasting memories together as a family.
Although it has been raining all weekend, we finally got some really pretty sunshine on the day of this family photo session, which I was so thankful for! These photos will make such beautiful holiday cards for this sweet family. I love that we were able to capture all of the beautiful fall colors that Greenville has to offer! And we were able to capture the beautiful sunset shining through the trees in the background of our photos too. I loved that this family was up for anything I threw at them, and we got such fun photos of all of them as well as lots of different combinations so that each family member has lots of fun photos with everyone else. I couldn't have loved working with this family more!
Here are a few of my favorite photos from this fun fall family photo session at Paris Mountain State Park! Enjoy!

Furman Rose Garden Family Photos
Wow! This family photo session was SO much fun! Photographing families with twins just might be my new favorite thing! Having a two month old baby myself, I don’t know how families with twins do it! I so admire anyone with multiples! These twins are just 7 months old! How cute are their little coordinating Christmas outfits?!
These family photos were at the Furman Rose Garden, which was BEAUTIFUL and in full bloom! You can’t even tell that it’s almost winter in these photos! This rose garden was one of the first places I explored here in Greenville before I even moved here, and it's still one of my absolute favorite parts of the city. It's absolutely stunning for photo sessions, and has the most beautiful lighting during golden hour and sunset. I always recommend this spot to my families! It makes for beautiful family photos!
I can’t believe how many great photos we were able to get with two babies! We got tons with everyone even looking at the camera! I was so happy and absolutely LOVED this photo session!
There are so many great spots within the Rose Garden to take photos! Of course, the gazebo is stunning. And then there are the rows of hedges with brick paths. And of course, you have to get in the middle of all of the roses for some beautiful shots as well! We took these photos right at sunset, and the lighting was just gorgeous!

Paris Mountain State Park Family Photos
I absolutely LOVED working with the super sweet Adams family! The way Amy and Zach interacted with their kids was so fun to see! You could literally feel how much this family loves each other and how much fun they have together! It always makes for some amazing photos when the parents are super encouraging towards their kids and the kids feel free to have fun and be themselves. I love those sweet, genuine interactions that come from such a beautiful family dynamic.
These photos were so special to this sweet family, because Amy is pregnant with their third child! I loved capturing some sweet maternity photos in addition to all of the family photos. The kids were so sweet and excited about their new baby sister and loved kissing mommy’s baby bump!
It was actually pouring rain on the day of this family session, but right after we arrived at Paris Mountain State Park, the rain cleared for us! I had brought some clear umbrellas to use for shooting in the rain, but luckily we didn’t even need to use them! It ended up being SO beautiful, and I love how the rain really brought out all of the fall colors!
Early to mid November is usually when the peak fall colors happen here in the Upstate of South Carolina. We ended up with the perfect timing for those fall colors during this session! And Paris Mountain was the most stunning spot to show off all of the colors that Greenville, South Carolina has to offer!

Our First Family Photos
I’m so excited to be showing you our first few family photos in our home and in our baby girl’s nursery! I just love these photos of Mark, Lillian, and I. We just love our little baby burrito and we love being a family of three now! When Lily was just a few days old, Mark took some photos of me with Lily, and I took photos of him with Lily. When Lily was two weeks old, my mom came to visit from Indiana. While she was here, I handed her my camera to take the photos of Mark, Lily, and I all together. And in exchange, I took a few photos of her with her granddaughter as well. We took these photos in our daughter nursery, outside out home in our back yard, and in my home newborn studio! I just love how all of these photos turned out!
I can’t wait to continue taking family photos with Lillian as she grown up! I already have so many that I want to print. I can imagine that we will start running out of room on our walls soon!
Having my own baby has showed me just how important newborn photos and family photos are. It has made me even more excited to capture these precious moments for other families and help to preserve these precious moments for other moms, dads, babies, and siblings.
I hope you enjoy these first few family photos of Mark, Lillian, and I! I can’t wait to take newborn and family photos for my sweet clients as well when I come back from maternity leave!

Lillian's Fresh 48 Photos
As a professional photographer, I decided to pack my camera equipment in my hospital bag when I gave birth to my daughter, Lillian and take my own fresh 48 photos of her at the hospital. I’m so glad I did, because I love these first few photos of her! Babies change SO fast, and I wanted to capture her just as she was right after her birth. Lily is such a beautiful baby, and I love these photos of my little girl!
I got to take photos of little Lily the day after she was born. Mark took photos of me with her, and I took photos of him with her. i handed my camera to a nurse, and she took the photos of the three of us. Also, Mark took my camera and took a few photos of us right after she was born. I love having these photos of our new little family.
Enjoy these first few photos of my baby girl and our little family! I will also be posting our first lifestyle photos in our home and in Lily’s nursery. Stay on the lookout for those! I will be returning from maternity leave in a few weeks, and I can’t wait to document your families as well and document your first moments with your newest additions!

Mountain View Maternity Photos in Greenville, South Carolina
Wow! Ellen and Rob’s maternity photos were incredible! We took these photos at one of my favorite local spots in the Greenville area, called Bald Rock Herritage Preserve. It has one of the most stunning mountain views for photos, so I absolutely love using it as a photo backdrop. Especially because you can drive straight up to this amazing view with no hiking involved. Sometimes, it can be a little bit crowded, but I have done so much exploring at this location, that I’ve been able to find a few secret spots that most people don’t know about. That way, we can get a little bit more privacy for our sessions.
Even though the weather was looking great all day, we just happened to get a pop up thunderstorm that started RIGHT as we parked at Bald Rock to start our session. Ellen and Rob were such troopers, and we up for shooting in the rain! I think the photos ended up incredible! I’ve never seen the view like this before. All of the steam rolling off of the mountains made for a really cool photo backdrop.
Ellen and Rob, you two are always so much fun to work with! I' am so honored to have been a part of so many milestones in your relationship and in your lives from your engagement photos, to your wedding photos, and now your maternity photos! It means so much to me that you continue to trust me to capture such important memories for you! Enjoy these sneak peek photos! I can’t wait to send you your full maternity session gallery!

Our Maternity Photos
When you’re a maternity photographer for a living, you absolutely have to document your own pregnancy with lots and lots of maternity photos, right?? I’m a huge advocate of getting professional photos taken to document every stage of life and every phase in the lives of your family. As Mark and I begin our journey as parents, I of course wanted lots of photos to document our journey.
We’ve taken some of our maternity photos ourselves with a tripod, which is how we take most of our photos. But while we were in Pensilvania for a friend’s wedding, we decided to do a maternity photo swap with Mark’s sister, who is due just 6 days before us. You can check out her maternity photos here. So after I took photos of her and her husband, I handed the camera to her to take some photos of Mark and I that I could edit as well! A huge thank you to Hannah for taking these for us! Mark and I absolutely love them!
We had an airbnb for this wedding right in the middle of the mountains, so we took these right in the front yard of the house we were taking in. Although I always love a good mountain view, the photos we took in the woods on the side of the house actually ended up being my favorite photos! I always love photos with a nice green background and the sun shining through the trees is one of the most beautiful views in my opinion.
I hope you enjoy seeing some of my own maternity photos!

Downtown Greenville, SC Maternity Photos
Wow, I absolutely LOVED my maternity photo session last night with Amanda, Chris, and their baby girl on the way. We used two different location for these photos. We started at Paris Mountain State Park for a more woody and nature backdrop, and then we went to downtown Greenville, SC for some more beautiful maternity photos. Downtown Greenville is so unique and one of my favorite paces in this city! Liberty Bridge at falls park on the reedy river is so cool. It’s a pedestrian bridge with a beautiful view of both the downtown Greenville skyline and the stunning waterfall in the middle of the city. We started with some photos on liberty bridge, and then went down to the bottom of the waterfall. I love all of the unique spots downtown. There’s such a perfect mixture of urban and nature backgrounds for photos!
Amanda had wonderful choices of outfits for her maternity photos! She wore a long, flowy white dress for our photos at Paris Mountain state park. It stood our beautifully among the greenery there. And then she changed into an adorable tight green dress for our photos downtown. I love both flowy and tight dresses for maternity photos to show off the bump!
Amanda and Chris, I LOVED getting to be your maternity photo photographer and to document this special time in your lives. I’m so excited for the two of you as you continue on your pregnancy journey and make the transition into becoming first time parents! You’re going to be such a wonderful mom and dad to your baby girl! I hope you enjoy these sneak peek photos, and I can’t wait to send you your full gallery of maternity photos from our session very soon!

Paris Mountain State Park Maternity Photos
I am in love with taking maternity photos! I’m so thankful for all of the moms who trust me with documenting such a special and precious time in their lives. Mary and Hunter’s maternity session was so sweet and special. I absolutely loved getting to photograph these two! last night. I couldn’t wait to get home, and start editing sneak peeks for these two right away! This sweet couple chose Paris Mountain State Park as the location for their maternity photos. Paris Mountain is a beautiful woodsy park with pretty tree backdrops and lake backdrops. It’s a great choice for any type of photo session! I love to take family photos, engagement photos, and couples photos here as well!
Mary’s sister, Morgan, actually contacted me to purchase a professional maternity photo session for Mary, which I thought was so sweet of her! She is so excited to be an aunt and for her sister to become a mom, and she wanted this amazing time in Mary’s life documented with beautiful, professional photos. I love the idea of gifting maternity photos for a friend or family member as a baby shower gift. It’s such a wonderful baby shower gift idea!
Mary and Hunter, it was such an honor to be your maternity photographer! You two are such an amazing couple. I’m so excited for the two of you as you enter into this new phase of your life and become parents to your baby girl! I hope you love these first few sneak peek photos! Greenville, South Carolina Maternity Photographer
This past weekend, we traveled to Mercersberg, PA for our dear friend’s wedding. Those photos are coming up next on the blog, I promise! I can’t wait to share those as well. But while we were there, we had the privilege of getting to take maternity photos for my sister-in-law and brother-in law. It was SO special to get to document this special time in their lives as they prepare for the arrival of their new baby boy, Henry! Being a maternity photographer is so much fun. I think it’s SO important to document your growing family with professional photos that you can hang on your walls and pass down for generations.
Hannah is the cutest pregnant lady, and these photos were so much fun to take! We woke up early the morning after the wedding to take these maternity photos right outside of our Airbnb. We had a stunning view of the rolling rills on the little farm we were staying on. But my favorite spot was the little forest off to the side of the house. There was beautiful morning light shining through the trees! And while I’m usually a fan of more formal outfits for photos, I absolutely LOVED Hannah’s adorable romper that she changed into for our section location. Casual maternity outfits are so fun!
I hope you enjoy these photos as much as I do!

Upstate South Carolina Family Photographer
It’s gallery delivery day for Lauren and her two teenage kids, and I couldn’t wait to share some of my favorite photos from this family session here on the blog! I have been loving getting to photograph more and more sweet family photos here in the upstate area of South Carolina! I have such a passion for capturing memories for families in all stages of life. I believe in investing in memories for your family starting when they are newborns and all the way up until they are adults and have their own children. I love seeing precious moments preserved forever in frames in the homes of my clients.
Lauren’s family session was especially perfect because they have such a wonderful home, property, and backyard area where we took these photos. They actually live right in the heart of downtown Fountain Inn, South Carolina, but they have all of this gorgeous property as if they live in the middle of the country! My favorite spot was their beautiful tree swing in the middle of the back yard. They also have a gorgeous rose arch that I loved getting to utilize.
For the blog today, I wanted to do something a little different than I normally do. In my client’s final galleries, I always include a good percentage of duplicate black and white images (don’t worry, I always provide the color version as well), so I wanted to show you what they looks like here on the blog. These are still only my favorite images from the session, and Lauren received a gallery over double this size. I was absolutely thrilled with the variety of photos we were able to capture during their session.
Lauren, Emory, and Braden, it was so wonderful getting to work with you sweet family on these photos that will last a lifetime! You have such a fun family dynamic and I loved getting to witness and photograph the bond you share as a family. I hope you enjoy these family memories for years to come! I can’t wait to see the artwork you creat to hang in the walls of your home with these photos!
Greenville, South Carolina Family Photographer
I absolutely LOVED working with this sweet family on this family photos last week! Everything about this family photo session was so much fun! Valentina chose Paris Mountain State Park in Taylors, South Carolina as the location for her photos. I actually live about 5 minutes from this park, and I LOVE this location! It’s such a fun spot for picnics and hikes. And, of course, it makes an amazing backdrop for family photos as well. I especially love the stunning lake at the entrance to the park.
Valentina asked me for outfit recommendations for what her and her family should wear for the photos, and this crew followed my suggestions PERFECTLY! I loved the way Valentina matched with her daughter and Manuel matched with their son. Neutral colors work SO well for family photos. Most people decided to take family photos, because the want memories to frame and hang in their home. Neutral outfits work so well, because the photos will go well in any room of your home, no matter your color scheme or decorating style.
One thing I just love about family photography is that the photos are always “perfectly imperfect.” I love getting to capture families how they truly are. I love the chaos and fun that young children bring to the photos. I love the goofiness, the love, and the connection between each member of the family. I love the way the parents show their love for each other and their kids. It’s so special to get to capture each stage of life for a family.
Valentina, it was SUCH an honor to work with your beautiful family and capture you all in the stage of life that you are in right now. I loved getting to be your family photographer! I can’t wait to send you the full gallery of photos from your family session SO soon!
