I’ve been wanting to offer videography in addition to photography for newborn sessions for SO long, and I’m so excited to finally start creating newborn videos for my sweet families. While I truly believe in the magic of photos to capture your precious memories, video pulls at the heartstrings and helps you relive the moment in a way that photos just can’t.

You are now able to add video on to any family or newborn session and receive a sweet highlight video like the one below in addition to the photos from your newborn or family session. I’m so excited for you to start experiencing the magic of session videos!

In Home Pregnancy Announcement Photos in Greenville, SC

Julian and Dr. Kristen reached out to me when they were looking for a maternity and newborn photographer for their in home pregnancy announcement photos at their stunning new build home in Simpsonville, SC here in the Greenville, South Carolina area of the Upstate. I loved hearing all about their love story, their recent Cabo destination wedding, and their excitement over their honeymoon baby! I couldn’t be more thrilled to photograph this part of their journey as a family from their pregnancy announcement photos, to their private gender reveal and a gender reveal with their families, and then, of course, their newborn photos once their baby is born!

We took these photos in Kristen and Julian’s beautiful new home that they just built in Simpsonville! The house has a stunning, modern, open concept design with lots and lots of windows. I’m a HUGE fan of all the beautiful natural light in their home. Kristen wore a dress from my favorite online boutique, Worth Collective! So many of the dresses from my client closet are from worth collective! We also included Julian and Kirsten’s two dogs in their pregnancy announcement photos. And of course, we had to take some photos in front of the Christmas tree as well! Hotel Domestique Mountain View Family Photos

When Valentina contacted me, she was searching for the perfect family photographer to take fall photos for her family AND the perfect mountain view for a beautiful view for her family photos. She loved the look of the mountain views at the Biltmore and the blue Ridge Parkway but she didn’t want to drive all the way to Asheville. I knew the perfect spot! Hotel Domestique! This was actually my wedding venue! And it has the absolute best mountain views in the Greenville area as well as amazing architecture! We took photos on the courtyard by the fountain. in front of the hotel with the beautiful architecture in the background, and then by the helipad with the stunning mountain views! I highly recommend Hotel Domestique for anyone searching for the perfect mountain views for their family photos!

Travelers Rest, SC Family Photographers

I loved photographing this sweet family in Travelers Rest, SC for the second year in a row! We got lucky and were able to take these family photos right at the end of the peak fall colors in the Greenville, SC area. We got stunning red, yellow, and orange leaves on the trees and on the ground for the background of these fall photos. Elissa asked me what they should wear for their photos, and she followed my advice exactly! These neutral colored outfits really help to make the family stand out against the beautiful fall colors, to allow the focus of the photos to be on the family and their love and connection, and to make the photos timeless! When these photos are printed, they will look good anywhere in the home!

Fall Family Photos at Paris Mountain State Park

One of my absolute favorite places to take fall family photos is Paris Mountain State Park! This is the perfect spot if you want as many fall colors as possible!! Red, orange, and yellow leaves are on the trees and the ground for miles. There’s also a pretty lake in the middle of the woods. This was such a fun last minute session that I’m so thankful we were able to squeeze in while the fall colors were still at their peak this fall!

I was so happy when Hayley reached out to me to ask me to take lifestyle family photos in her home with her, her husband, and their six month old son! Taylors, SC Christmas Mini Sessions

This sweet family was another one of the amazing families who participated in my Tayors, SC Christmas Mini Sessions. I loved doing multiple rounds of family Christmas minis at White Wall Studio this year at the Taylors Mil. It’s a beautiful, minimalist white studio. We used a Christmas tree with snow on it, a white fireplace, a garland, candles, and stockings on the fireplace. We also used a white bench for some sitting photos and a blanket for some snuggling and laying down photos!

When Megan reached out to me, she was looking for a photographer to capture sweet candids of her family with her and her daughters in flowy dresses. Christmas Pjs Mini Sessions In Greenville, SC

I loved this sweet Christmas Pj’s mini session at White Wall Studio here in the Greenville, South Carolina area. These adorable red and white Christmas pj’s were a perfect fit with the minimalistic Christmas mini session set up at the simple white studio. They also brought fun red presents to put under the tree and pretend to open, which was so fun! We also brought out a little white bench for some sitting photos as well as a blanket for some sweet snuggly photos!

How To Take Your Own Christmas Card Photos

My first Christmas mini session client was….my own little family! That’s right. I brought my husband and daughters to work with me, so I could take some Christmas family photos of the four of us with my tripod! I had low expectations for how taking our own photos with a toddler and a baby would go, but I’m pleasantly surprised by the results!

Here’s a little breakdown of how I take our own family photos! First of all, let me say, I don’t necessarily recommend trying to take your own family photos. We typically hire family photographers a couple times a year, but sometimes I just need photos with my babies in between. So self-timer portraits work in a pinch!

Here’s the settings I use to take our photos. I know a lot of people like using a remote, but I personally prefer self timer mode! I use my Nikon z6ii. I set the shutter release mode to self-timer. I set it to 10 second delay, and 9 photos (1 second apart).

I set my camera on a tripod and I have a little monkey on top to help the girls know where to look. First, I position Mark with one of the girls. I set my settings and composition, then I explain the pose or poses. After I hit the shutter button, I have 10 seconds to get into place with the other baby and we have 9 tries to get a good photo or two. Then repeat the process for the next pose!

Christmas Mini Sessions At White Wall Studios In Taylors, SC

This sweet family was another repeat client that participated in my Christmas mini sessions this year at White Wall Studios in Taylors, SC. White Wall Studio is a beautiful spot for a more minimalistic vibe for Christmas mini sessions. I love using the Christmas tree, the white fireplace, candles, and some furniture props for sitting, standing, and laying down photos. I love taking a mixture of those posed looking and smiling photos as well as those sweet and fun candid photos. My Christmas mini sessions are quick and painless as well as a fun experience for the whole family. Plus, we always get SO many beautiful photos in just a 15 minute mini session!

Christmas Mini Sessions In Greenville SC

My first round of Christmas Mini Sessions in Greenville, SC officially kicked off this past weekend! I used White Wall Studios in Taylors, South Carolina. It’s one of my favorite studio locations here in the Upstate South Carolina area. I rent this studio often, especially for mini sessions. It’s the perfect space for a minimalistic set up for Christmas mini sessions. I use the Christmas tree, fire place, logs, and candles. I also love using a blanket on the ground for some snuggly photos where families can lay down or kids can hold their baby siblings. I also love using a bench for sitting photos. I love the variety of posed and candid Christmas family photos we are able to capture in just a 15 minute mini session!
