Hey Sweet Mama!
I’m Michelle, a family, newborn, and maternity photographer based in Greenville, South Carolina. Newborn photography is truly my passion and my calling, and I am so grateful for each family I have the honor of working with. When I’m not behind the camera, you can find me hiking, gardening, and spending time with my husband and our two daughters!
I have had the absolute pleasure of photographing HUNDREDS of families (including many repeat clients over the years) in the last 10 years and have loved every second of it!
Ever since having my own babies, I have realized even more just how important family portraits are, especially newborn photos! They are only little for so long, and the newborn stage is so sweet and sacred. I treasure those memories and the photos of my babies when they were tiny.
I also know how hard it is to get in front of the camera as a mom. We are always the ones taking the photos. Invest in yourself and your family memories. Let me help you remember these fleeting newborn snuggles, the tiny toes, and the love you have for each other.
The Newborn Experience
What is a newborn session with me like? Most families tell me they are pleasantly surprised by how stress free the experience is! Especially if they’ve had newborn photos taken with other photographers in the past. I know how difficult those first few days and weeks with a new baby can be, and my goal is to make the experience even more joyful without adding any stress on new, sleep deprived parents.
My sessions are fun and relaxed! I start by looking around your home for the best spots to take photos. Please don’t worry at all if your house is messy! I know what having a newborn is like, and I promise I won’t judge! We can always find multiple spots that are beautiful with good lighting, whether that’s the nursery, the kitchen, or the master bedroom!
We work at baby’s pace, and we can take as many feeding breaks as we need to! My goal is to capture the joy of the newborn stage. I take photos of the whole family, breakdowns with different members of the family, and baby alone. I aim for tons of variety with an emphasis on capturing love, joy, and playfulness. I love to get older siblings involved by having fun snuggling with mom, dad, and their new sibling. Plus lots of tickling and shoulder rides for those energetic toddlers.
Don’t want to take photos in your home? No problem! Some of my families opt for outdoor newborn photos or photos in a studio! I even have studio options that look like a home if you like that look but don’t want to worry about cleaning your own house.

Location Planning Guide
Newborn sessions ideally take place in your home. There is no need to leave the comfort of your own house with a tiny newborn baby. The siblings are also often much more comfortable in their own space. That said, if you prefer an outdoor location or a studio, I send over a location guide with photo examples from my favorite outdoor locations and studios in the Greenville area.

Why do I use the word investment instead of pricing?
The word investment implies that something gets more valuable with time, not less. Newborn photos are definitely one of those things where the value increases the more time that passes. When you have a 5 year old, you treasure those precious baby photos even more because you no longer have that baby in your arms. You have the memories and the photos on your walls. When your babies are teenagers, you’ll treasure those photos even more. And when they are all grown up, they will treasure those photos that signify the memories of their childhood and the love their family had and still has for each other.
Newborn photos get more valuable with time.

Check out a full newborn session gallery here! I always recommend that you ask to see a full gallery from any photographer that you consider working with. Anyone can put a few great images on their website, but you want to make sure that you’ll LOVE the final product that you’ll receive!
So how does the booking process work?
It’s always best to book your newborn photos before your baby is born. I usually recommend choosing your newborn photographers around 20—30 weeks of pregnancy. You’ll choose a date on my calendar in order to book your session, but don’t worry! This date is just in pencil. It’s not set in stone. I’m super flexible based on if baby comes early or late, if baby needs to spend some time in the NICU, if mama needs time to heal, etc.
I recommend choosing a session date around 2 weeks after your due date, but it’s honestly up to you! If you prefer to capture baby within the first few days, that’s totally fine! If you prefer to wait until 3-4 weeks or even a little later, that’s fine too! Some mamas know they need more time to heal and feel like themselves before taking photos. The nice thing about lifestyle newborn photos is there is no hard and fast rule that photos have to be taken by a certain time.
But what if your baby is already born? A lot of moms don’t realize that they are going to want newborn photos until after their baby is born. That’s okay! It never hurts to reach out and see if I can squeeze you in. If you don’t see a date that works for you on my calendar in the near future, feel free to email me and we’ll see what we can do!
BUT, if at all possible, try to book before baby is born. It’s one less thing for you to stress about in those early postpartum days!
Frequently Asked Questions
Can we purchase more photos than our package comes with?
Yes! I send over your gallery with all of your photos for you to choose from! If you would like to purchase more photos than your package comes with, additional downloads are $25 per photo or $250 for the full gallery (usually 50-200 photos depending on the length of the session).
How Does the Booking Process Work?
As soon as you are ready, you can book your date and time by clicking here. Choose your date and time on my calendar, agree to the terms, and pay your session fee to officially book! For newborn sessions, we can always reschedule based on when baby arrives, if there are any complications, etc. I only take sessions on Saturdays and Sundays at this time.
Out of fairness to all of my clients, I cannot hold a date for any reason without payment and an official booking.
What if we are awkward in front of the camera?
PLEASE don't worry about this at all! Almost everyone says this! It's my job as your photographer to help you feel relaxed and natural, so that you look your best. You don't have to come up with any poses or ideas. That's my job! Of course, if there are specific things you want, I'm happy to capture those for you as well!
What is your turn around time?
I always have your gallery back to you within 1-2 weeks!
What is a family session with you like?
First, I start with those important looking and smiling photos and break down the family unit into different combinations, making sure to capture any special request photos for you. Then, the rest of the session is all about playing. Moms, kids, and even dads have SO much fun during my family sessions. The dads always tell me at the end of the session that they are surprised at how much they loved it. My goal is to use fun prompts to create authentic family moments. I love candid photos filled with genuine connection. Your family will think of this session as a really fun family memory where they all got to play and love on each other. Then, I end with one last looking and smiling photo. I aim to create a gallery filled with tons of variety for you to choose from!
What time of day do you take sessions?
I take sessions any time of day! I typically find that morning time frame usually works the best for newborns. That’s usually when they are the happiest. If you have other children, before their nap time usually works best. However, if you prefer a different time of day, that’s totally fine as well!
