This sweet family joined me for one of my fall mini sessions, and it couldn’t have been a more beautiful day. The woods were glowing with soft shades of amber and gold, and their sweet golden retriever trotted happily by their side as we captured photos filled with laughter and love. Mom and Dad came with their two wonderful kids — a 12-year-old daughter and a 10-year-old son — and their two-year-old dog, who completely stole the show in several shots with his big smile and wagging tail.

Their outfits were classic and cozy, perfect for the season. Mom wore a cream sweater with lace detailing and navy corduroy pants, while Dad looked timeless in a blue plaid button-down and khakis. The kids coordinated beautifully — their daughter in a striped neutral sweater dress with knee-high boots and a red bow in her hair, and their son in a plaid shirt and khakis to match his dad. The colors blended beautifully with the earthy fall tones around them, giving every photo that warm, timeless look families love.

What made this session so special was how natural and joyful it felt. We captured plenty of posed family portraits, but the in-between moments — the laughter, the hugs, the way their dog leaned in close — were the real highlights. You could see how much love this family shares, and how relaxed and happy they were just being together outdoors.
