Coxhall Gardens Engagement Photos | Carmel, Indiana Wedding Photographer
I had an absolute blast with Emily and Vivian tonight while taking their engagement photos at Coxhall Gardens. I always love getting up to Carmel for sessions. It’s one of the cutest little cities in Indiana with such a wide variety of different locations and backdrops for engagement sessions and weddings. So essentially, it’s a wedding photographer’s dream.
Emily and Vivian were such stunning subjects to have in front of my camera tonight. Coxhall gardens was pretty crowded, as it usually is since it’s such a popular park for activities and for photographers and photo sessions. While most of my usual favorite spots for photos were in use by other people, I didn’t mind, because it gave me an excuse to find some new beautiful locations and try out some different backdrops that I don’t usually use. It’s always fun when you’re forced to be a little extra creative.
I’m already getting so excited from Emily and Vivian’s wedding day in October. They’re getting married at Abram Farm in a newly build bright red barn. This venue is right across the street from a state park in Bloomington, Indiana. Can you imagine how beautiful their wedding photos are going to be with all of those fall colors in the middle of October?! It’s going to be such an amazing day!
Emily and Vivian, I loved working with you two tonight! Enjoy these sneak peaks from your engagement photo session while I finish editing your full gallery. I can’t wait to see you two again at your wedding in just a few short months!
Stacy and Eric's Newfields Engagement Session
I had so much fun with Stacy and Eric during their Newfields Engagement session tonight! Newfields (the Indiana Museum of Art) is my all time favorite location to shoot engagement sessions at the Indianapolis area. It seems like almost all of my engagement sessions have been at Newfields lately, which I absolutely love! Check out the blog to see a lot more Newfields Engagement Sessions. It’s also such a perfect venue for an elegant and classic wedding day. Stacy and Eric love Newfields as well and knew right away that this was the location they really wanted for their engagement session. The mix of the nature, garden, and elegant architectural backdrops was perfect for who these two are as a couple.
Stacy and Eric are such a unique couple, and I love that they are tailoring their wedding planning, wedding day, and entire wedding experience to them instead of feeling like they need to go along with the traditional aspects of weddings. I wish I could tell every couple that weddings are only about you and your significant other. You can make your wedding day exactly how you want. You don’t have to feel confined to traditions or to what anyone else does. I love that Stacy and Eric are fully embracing that. They’re getting married at Bash, a brand new venue in Carmel, this fall, and I cannot wait to be there to photograph it.
Bash is an amazing venue as well that I highly recomend to anyone looking for a wedding venue on Carmel. The staff there has been so amazing to work with! They’re holding an open house on July 24 for anyone who would like to come check out the venue. I’ll be there, so feel free to come say hi!
Stacy and Eric, enjoy these sneak peaks while I finish editing your full engagement session gallery!
Eagle Creek Anniversary Session with a Puppy
Do you want to know what my favorite thing ever is when it comes to couples sessions? Okay, I have a lot of favorite things, but one of them is when my couples bring their dogs with them to their session. I was so excited when Shelby and Morgan contacted me to photograph their anniversary session at Eagle Creek park, and they wanted to bring their 5 month old puppy with them!
Shelby and Morgan’s dog, Andi (named after Anderson Orchard where they got married), was SO sweet and did such a good job being patient taking photos, and she loved getting to play with her mom and dad during our session. You could tell just how much she loved her parents, Shelby and Morgan. And whenever I asked Shelby and Morgan to kiss, Andi wanted in on the action too and started licking their faces. It was the cutest thing and made for some adorable candid photos.
Eagle Creek Park and Reservoir is one of my favorite places in the Indianapolis ares for engagement and anniversary couples sessions. It’s such a huge park with so many great background options. For Shelby and Morgan’s session, we opted for Lily Lake, one of the open fields with tall grass, and one of the docks on Eagle Creek Reservoir as our different background options. Shelby and Morgan were so natural in front of the camera. These two should definitely be models! It made for such a fun session, and we were able to be so efficient with our time, because they already knew exactly what to do.
Shelby and Morgan, I LOVED getting to photograph your anniversary session! Congratulations on one year of marriage. I hope you enjoy these sneak peaks, and I can’t wait to send you your full couples session gallery SO soon!
Downtown Indianapolis Canal Walk Engagement Session
I could not have possibly loved this Downtown Indianapolis Canal Walk Engagement Session any more than I did, because Cristina and Spencer are SUCH incredible people that make the most adorable couple! We had a blast walking the entire length of the canal and stopping at all of the good spots for photos. We started at the Indiana Government Center Pillars, and ended all the way at the waterfall by Canal 337 at the very end of the canal, and we got so many epic photos of this gorgeous pair along the way. I loved that Cristina and Spencer chose the downtown canal walk for their engagement session, because it’s a special place for them with sweet memories from when they were dating. It’s always so fun when couples choose locations that are meaningful to them in some way.
Cristina and Spencer have the sweetest love story. They met in college at the Library at Ball State (the same school I went to as well). After a few years of dating, Spencer proposed to Cristina in PARIS in front of the Louvre! Cristina was so surprised that she first replied with “seriously?” followed by “are you sure?” before finally saying “of course!” There’s no better place to propose than Paris, the city of love!
Cristina and Spencer are still figuring out their wedding plans, but the very first thing they wanted to do was book an engagement session to document their love. What a fun first step in the wedding planning process! I loved working with these two love birds SO much, and I can’t wait to hear all about their wedding when they start planning.
Cristina and Spencer, your engagement session was so amazing! I hope you enjoy these sneak peaks while I finish editing your full gallery! I can’t wait to send you the rest!
Lily House and Gardens Engagement Session at Newfields
Allison and Matt are the BEST and I loved their Lily House and Gardens engagement session at Newfields yesterday. I can’t believe I got to photograph couples that are high school sweethearts two days in a row! Allison and Matt have such a sweet love story. They dated for 12 years before getting engaged. After high school, they went to Indiana University together, then moved to Minnesota together, before finally moving back to Indianapolis together to get married and start the rest of their lives.
There are SO many great places to shoot at Newfields for both wedding and engagement sessions. For Allison and Matt’s session, we started the in greenhouse at the very back of the gardens. Next, we went to my favorite spot, which is the archway under the Lily House. Another one of my favorite spots is the bridge next to the Lily House. It’s always perfectly shaded, which makes it ideal for days when we have harsh sun but we have to shoot in the middle of the day. After an outfit change, we shot in front of the Lily House itself before ending out session in front of the white gates leading to the very last garden.
I seriously can not wait for their September wedding at The Sycamore at Mallow Run winery. It’s being panned by Danielle from D. Nicole Events, so I already know it’s going to be incredible and perfect. They’re planning a sweet, intimate, fall barbecue wedding in a vineyard, and I can’t imagine a more fun wedding!
Allison and Matt, it was SO much fun photographing your engagement session. Now I can’t wait for your wedding day! Enjoy these sneak peaks while I finish editing your full gallery.

A Newfields Engagement Session | Priya and Shane
Pryia and Shane’s Newfields engagement session this afternoon was a dream come true for me as a wedding photographer. These two high school sweethearts were absolutely adorable in front of the camera! I loved getting to explore the museum and gardens with them even if we had to navigate the large crowds. It was such a beautiful day outside today after a rainy week, so it was no wonder everyone wanted to head to the Indiana Museum of Art to enjoy the nice, sunny weather!
Even though this couple is not from Indianapolis, a friend’s wedding nearby in Carmel was the perfect time to shoot an engagement session while they were close by. We had just enough time to head to Newfields for a beautiful session during the cocktail hour of their friend’s wedding.
Newfields is one of my favorite places in Indianapolis for engagement sessions, weddings, and any other type of photo sessions or events, because there is such a wide variety of amazing photography backdrops throughout the huge garden area outside of the museum. There is stunning architecture of the Lily hourse, beautiful flowers all around, and lush green areas around the grounds. There’s also a super cool green house, which is such a unique spot for photos!
Priya and Shane were such a sweet and fun couple. I LOVED getting to know them and chat about their wedding day. They’re getting married next March at at the Scottish Rite Cathedral and with Jean from Blue Llama Events planning their wedding, I already know it’s going to be an incredible day. I’m already SO looking forward to their amazing downtown Indianapolis wedding next year!
Priya and Shane, enjoy these sneak peaks from our engagement session this afternoon. Your full gallery will be on its way to your inbox super soon!
Surprise Proposal During West Virginia University Graduation Ceremony
At West Virginia University’s graduation ceremony this weekend, most of the excited graduates and their friends and family expected a perfectly normal commencement with an encouraging speech by a successful alumna before all of the graduation candidates walk on stage to receive their diplomas. But THIS graduation was about to be so much more special than usual. As the very last graduate walked across the stage, the announcer asked Skyler to come up on stage. Dylan got down on one knee in front of the entire auditorium and asked her to marry him while the whole crowd cheered for them. What a perfect surprise proposal! Of course, she said yes!
After learning more about Skyler and Dylan’s story, I learned that this was the perfect proposal for them as a couple. They’ve been dating for a couple years and have been talking about getting married for so long. But Skyler wanted to wait until after Dylan graduated from college. Dylan wanted to propose to Skyler so badly that he proposed the very second that he graduated. He couldn’t wait 5 more minutes. It’s also the last thing that Skyler would have expected. She’s an extrovert, but Dylan is more reserved and doesn’t like to be the center of attention, so she would have never expected him to propose in front of a crowd. I love how sweet and thoughtful he was to propose in the way he did.
I’ve gotten to know Skyler over the past year and a half or so as she helped with her mom, Sarah’s, workshop tour across the country with her wedding floral business, Intrigue Designs. I got to photograph the behind the scenes of her workshops at quite of few of their tour stops. I was SO incredibly honored with Sarah asked me to come to West Virginia to photograph such an important moment in Skyler and Dylan’s lives.
Skyler and Dylan, enjoy these sneak peaks from your engagement! Your full gallery will be ready super soon!

Ritchie Woods Nature Preserve and Mustard Seed Gardens Engagement Session | Colleen and Joe
Last night, I had the pleasure of photographing the most amazing spring engagement session with the most gorgeous and sweet couple, Colleen and Joe at Ritchie Woods Nature Preserve in Fishers and Mustard Seed Gardens in Noblesville. Spring is in the air, and all of the budding trees and spring flowers made our engagement session so beautiful. We had to change the date of the engagement session last minute to avoid these April showers we’ve been having, and I’m so glad we did, because we ended up with the PERFECT day.
I first met Colleen a couple years ago when she coordinated a few weddings that I photographed. She always does such an amazing job coordinating weddings, which is how I know her wedding is going to be absolutely incredible! Colleen and Joe are having a destination wedding! Destination weddings are super popular amongst people who work in the wedding industry, and after joining the wedding industry myself, I can definitely understand why. Destination weddings are extra special and beautiful. Their wedding will be in Charleston, South Carolina at a stunning plantation wedding venue, Runnymede Plantation.
I absolutely can’t wait for their wedding. It will be so amazing to get to photograph this gorgeous couple among the famous Oak trees with the Spanish moss and the beautiful southern plantation architecture. AND their wedding is on “Leap Day” since next year is a leap year. How fun is that?!
Colleen and Joe, enjoy these sneak peaks from your engagement session. I can’t wait to finish editing your full gallery!

Anniversary Couples Session at Newfields | Christine and Caleb
Newfields, formerly known as the Indianapolis Museum of Art (IMA), is my absolute FAVORITE location in the Indianapolis area for engagement sessions, anniversary sessions, and couples sessions. Christine and Caleb’s anniversary session in the Newfields gardens certainly did not disappoint. Christine wore a beautiful flowy, lavender dress with was perfect for the romantic feel of the Newfields gardens. And I absolutely LOVE when my brides get bouquets for their engagement sessions or anniversary sessions. It adds so much to the vibe of the session, and as an added bonus, if gives you something to do with your hands for those of you that are like me who never know what to do with their hands while getting photos taken.
Unfortunately, we ended up with a cloudy and rainy day for photos, but that’s okay! We always make the best of any situation. Newfields offers such a wide variety of backdrops for photos including many places with coverings, so we didn’t have to worry too much about the rain. I brought my clear umbrellas, but we didn’t even end up needing them for photos. We only used them for walking between locations. We started out in the greenhouse. Newfields has the most adorable little greenhouse, and luckily we were the only ones in there. Next, we headed to the archway underneath the Lily house for more covered photos until the rain stopped. We ended our session on the stairs behind the Lily house and then in front of the Lily house. We had the most beautiful tulips in the background of our photos. All of the flowers are blooming at Newfields right now, and it made for an even more beautiful session.
I hope you enjoy a few of my favorite photo’s from Caleb and Christine's amazing anniversary session in the Newfields Gardens!
A HUGE thank you to all of the talented people who helped with this amazing session:

Atlanta Engagement Session
How lucky am I as a photographer that I got to shoot two engagement sessions in the beautiful Cater Woolford Gardens in Atlanta, Georgia?! I always love getting to photograph weddings and couples in new cities all across the country and the world. Being a wedding photographer is already a dream job, but being a destination wedding photographer is the best job in the world. I don't have to shoot every wedding or session in an exotic location in another country. I get just as excited about shooting in new cities right here in the United States. And whenever I get to go someone a little warmer in the winter, well that's just a huge bonus!
Working with Emily and Trey for their couples session was especially awesome, because Emily herself is a wedding photographer in Atlanta, Georgia, and Trey works with her as her second shooter. I work with my husband, Andry, a lot in my business, so I always think it's fun when I meet other couples who work together as well. I'm always so honored when other wedding photographers choose me as their wedding and/or engagement session or couples session photographer. I know how picky us photographers are when it comes to hiring photographers for ourselves! These two were so comfortable in front of the camera, and they love to have tons of fun together! They were such natural models and were so good at taking my direction and running with it and turing it into cute poses that were so them!
Enjoy a few of my favorite photos from Emily and Trey's Cater Woolford Gardens engagement session!

Cater Woolford Gardens Engagement Session
I first discovered Cater Woolford Gardens around a year ago online. I knew immediately that I wanted to shoot there the next time I was in Atlanta. Atlanta has so many amazing locations for engagement sessions. It makes me a little jealous of the photographers that get to shoot there all the time. Although, luckily, I have been getting to do weddings and engagement sessions in the Atlanta area more and more recently.
Cater Woolford Gardens provides such a wide variety of locations for photos. I love the elegant building with it’s white marble pillars, the woods with its blooming trees, the long staircase in the middle of the woods, and the garden area with its spring blooms. We chose the perfect time to visit Atlanta, because spring was in full force. There were beautiful flowers everywhere, and the trees were starting to get their leaves back. Jasmine’s choice of a light colored floral dress was perfect for the spring vibes of this engagement session.
I loved working with Jasmine and Karl. Jasmine is actually an Atlanta blogger over at http://nlovewithjasmine.webflow.io/. Her blog focuses on motherhood, fitness, relationships, and home decor. I would definitely recomend checking her out! Jasmine is SO gorgeous and was so comfortable in front of the camera. Her and Karl were just adorable together. It’s amazing when, as a photographer, I can tell how in love my couples are just by the way they interact with each other during their engagement session.
Enjoy a few of my favorite photos from Jasmine and Karl’s Cater Woolford Gardens engagement session!

Atlanta Engagement Session | Georgia Couples Photographer
One of my favorite things that I get to do in this business is travel and meet new people. Sabrina and Sahir were so sweet and amazing to work with during their couples session. We had originally planned to shoot at Chateau Elan, but unfortunately those plans fell through. I was actually glad they did, because we ended up shooting in the country club in Sahir’s parent’s neighborhood in Duluth, Georgia, and this place was a DREAM! There are so many beautiful locations in Atlanta for engagement sessions. As a photographer, I absolutely LOVE getting to photograph couples, engagement sessions, and weddings in Atlanta as well as the surrounding areas and suburbs.
Sabrina is actually an amazing fashion and lifestyle blogger over at https://simplysabrinablog.com/. She has some amazing beauty and travel tips that I love! Definitely check out her site! Being a blogger couple made these two much more comfortable and at ease in front of the camera. They are used to being models all the time, which made them so easy to pose and direct. These two are high school sweethearts that have been together for so long. They are such a charming couple, and just a pleasure to photograph.
Atlanta may be one of my new favorite locations for engagement sessions and weddings. Atlanta has such beautiful gardens as well as well as historic venues with southern charm. I’ve been to Atlanta before to photograph a beautiful wedding at the Swan House. If you haven’t checked out the swan house yet, you have to see photos of this amazing location. It’s actually in a lot of movies. It’s President Snow’s mansion in the Hunger Games.

Puerto Rico Destination Wedding Photographer | Day After Session in Old San Juan
Krystal and Luc’s wedding week in San Juan and Luquillo, Puerto Rico was absolutely a dream. After Amanda and Alex’s wedding week in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, we flew straight to Puerto Rico for Krystal and Luc’s destination wedding. I am beyond thankful for these two for trusting me enough to capture their destination wedding and wedding week. Two days after their wedding in Luquillo where we took their bride and groom photos on the beach at Playa Azul, they opted for a change of scenery for their “day after the wedding” session. Krystal loves the colorful architecture of Old San Juan, so we met there for another session.
On the first day I arrived in Puerto Rico, I went and scouted all of Krystal and Luc’s locations they were using for their wedding including their getting ready locations, the church, portrait locations, and their reception venue. I absolutely loved Playa Azul and La Pared for their bride and groom and bridal party portraits. I also went to Old San Juan to scout all of the best locations for their “day after” session. I was so glad that Krystal is from Puerto Rico, because she also gave me some amazing ideas for locations that I didn’t know about. She knew about all of the historical locations of the city that have so much meaning for Puerto Ricans. San Juan is such a neat city with so much history behind it. While we were on our way between locations, we found some really cute architecture including an adorable street with colorful buildings and trees and greenery that I was obsessed with.
Enjoy a few of my favorite photos from Krystal and Luc’s next day session in Old San Juan after their destination wedding in Luquillo, Puerto Rico.

Couples Session at the Central Library in Downtown Indianapolis | Amy and Hansen
Today, Hansen became a U.S. citizen! I was so excited when Amy asked me to photograph his citizenship naturalization ceremony. I’m not sure if many of you know this, but I’m also married to a non-U.S. citizen. Andry is from Madagascar, and we’ve been going through the immigration process as well. He is eligible to apply for his citizenship this coming June, so it was so fun to get to experience and photograph a citizenship ceremony to see what it’s like. After the ceremony, we drove to the Central Library in downtown Indianapolis for a short couples session.
The Central Library is one of my favorite spots for couples portraits and engagement sessions. If you’re looking for location ideas, you can check out my full list here. It was nice that it was so close to the immigration office as well.
I loved getting to work with Amy. She was actually my mentor at my first corporate job out of college back when I was a financial analyst. Ever since we both left that company, we haven’t gotten to see much of each other, so it was amazing to get to catch up with an old friend.
Amy and Hansen are so adorable together. They’ve been married for about 4 years, so it’s always fun to get some new couples photos after you’ve been married for a while. Especially when you’re celebrating something exciting, like your husband becoming a United States Citizen!
Amy and Hansen, I loved getting to celebrate with you two! I can’t wait to send you your full gallery! Congratulations again on becoming a United States Citizen, Hansen!

Kyle and Megan | Broad Ripple Winter Engagement Session
From the moment that Megan and Kyle inquired with me, I knew we would be the perfect match. Right away in he inquiry email, Megan mentioned that her and Kyle definitely wanted a winter engagement session, and they wanted to do it in Broad Ripple. I absolutely love when my couples are dead set on doing an engagement session with me, because I feel the same way! Engagement sessions are such a great way for us to not only get to know each other, but also for my couple to get to know my posing and shooting style. On their wedding day, Megan and Kyle are going to be old pro’s!
These two chose Broad Ripple for their engagement session, because they currently live there together. When I asked if there were any specific places in Broad Ripple that were special to them, Megan told me that at this point, they have special memories all over Broad Ripple. What a sweet answer! We ended up using a path right off of the Monon Trail for their photos with their adorable dog. I love when couples bring their dog to their engagement session. Next, we took some photos at the Indianapolis Art Center, which is such a neat little hidden gem that our city has. Then after an outfit change, we took some photos on the love lock bridge. And we finished our session on the rooftop of the HopCat parking Garage.
This was seriously such a fun session, and we got to explore all of Broad Ripple. Megan and Kyle were so much fun to work with and just adorable in their interactions with each other. I already can’t wait for their wedding at the Mavris Art Center in downtown Indianapolis this October.
Megan and Kyle, enjoy your sneak peaks! Your full gallery will be on its way soon!

Katlin and Jake | Elegant Downtown Indianapolis Engagement Session
Katlin found me through a mutual friend that we have, and I’m so glad she did, because this session was SO much fun! I loved working these with these two yesterday! They opted for an engagement session downtown, because it’s a special place in their relationship. It’s so sweet when couples have an adorable reason for choosing a certain location for their session. I absolutely love using downtown locations in the winter, because architecture is beautiful in any season. You can read more about some of my favorite locations for engagement sessions here.
We actually scheduled this session for way back in mid-December, but we had to reschedule three times due to rain. Snow would have been fine, but we’ve been having such a warm December that we ended up with rain every time. Luckily Katlin and Jake weren’t in a huge rush to get their photos, and we were able to push their session back until we could get some good weather on our side.
Katlin was sweet enough to trust me to choose the specific downtown locations we used for their engagement session. She and Jake originally wanted to use the canal downtown, but unfortunately it was being drained for a once in 10 years cleaning. I ended up choosing the Central Library and the pillars outside of the Indiana Government Center. These are two of my absolute favorite places to shoot, because of the beautiful architecture and the elegant vibes.
Katlin and Jake also chose the perfect outfits! I love that they opted for a formal look, and a more casual look. They were absolutely stunning!
Katlin and Jake, I hope you enjoy your sneak peaks! Your full gallery is coming soon!

Best of Couples and Engagement Sessions 2018
Of course, I couldn’t write a Best of Weddings 2018 blog post, without also writing a Best of Couples and Engagement Sessions 2018 blog post. I specialize in photography for two two things: weddings and couples, because these are the two things I absolutely LOVE to photograph. I always talk about how much I love weddings, and why I love them so much, but I don’t post as much on social media about why I also love being a couples photographer.
Two of my three wedding photography packages include a complimentary engagement session. This isn’t only a benefit for the couple, it’s a benefit for me as well. Engagement sessions are such a great way for me to get to know my couples before the wedding day. They get to learn my posing and directing style while we chat about their wedding day. This is such great practice, because once the wedding day comes along, my couples already know all the poses. And they already know that they loved their engagement photos, so they don’t have to worry about whether or not they are going to love their wedding photos.
Another benefit of the engagement session is it’s a great opportunity for my couples to communicate their hopes for their wedding photos. Maybe they get the images back and they realize that they loved the twirling photos, and want more like that on their wedding day. Or maybe they didn’t like the sitting photos, and want to skip those on the wedding day. This is another reason a trial run is so important!
Not to mention, my couples get awesome photos of the two of them that they can print and frame. Most of my couples (even the grooms) have a blast at the session. It’s like a date where you get to snuggle up to and flirt with your favorite person. What could be better?!
Besides just engagement sessions, some of my couples come back to me for anniversary sessions. And some couples who are just dating and want beautiful photos with their significant other come to me for photos as well. Any time I can get couples in front of my camera, I’m all for it!
Check out some of my favorite couples and engagement session photos from the year. A lot of these couples used some of my favorite engagement session locations. Some of these couples got married this year as well, and some of them will have awesome weddings that I’ll get to photograph next year. This year was amazing, and I’m so looking forward to 2019!
Christmas Tree Farm Couples Session in Indianapolis | Nicole and Brandon
Today’s Christmas Tree Farm Couple’s session was so special for me! It’s not every day that I get to take photos of my own baby sister and her boyfriend. I have been wanting to get these two in front of my camera for so long. We actually wanted to do fall Brown County and vineyard photos, but unfortunately between my busy fall wedding season and working around two nurses’ schedules, we weren’t able to schedule anything until now, so we decided that a Christmas tree farm couples session would be adorable. Nicole loves Christmas more than anyone I’ve ever met, and Brandon loves her, so this location was perfect.
We met this afternoon at Watts Christmas Tree Farm and Sparkle Shop (the best name ever for a tree shop) at Traders Point Creamery in our home town of Zionsville. I was hoping that our snow from a few days ago would stick around for our session, but the surprisingly warm weather was nice as well! We took a few adorable photos while they looked around for the perfect Christmas Tree for Brandon’s home, killing two birds with one stone. They ended up settling on the perfect little tree, which was actually one that we took photos in front of.
Am I biased or are these two the most adorable couple ever? I’m sure you’ll see them popping up on my blog and social media a lot more in the near future (it must be nice to have a sister who’s a professional wedding and couple’s photographer ;) ). We still need to do that Brown County and Vineyard Session once spring comes. In the mean time, enjoy the photos from our tree farm session this afternoon!
Industrial Engagement Session at INDUSTRY
I had so much fun with Leah and Devin tonight during their engagement session at INDUSTRY, one of my favorite wedding venues in Indianapolis.
These two are the winners of INDUSTRY’s unique REAL wedding experience. Leah and Devin receive a completely free wedding, including all of their vendors. They get to bring their bridal party, invite their own guests, and really get married. But in addition to their own guests, the wedding will be open to the public as well, so future brides and grooms can experience a wedding at INDUSTRY and see all of the vendors in action. I love the concept of the combination of a wedding and a bridal show and I can’t wait to be a part of it!
I’ll be posting on social media as soon as tickets for the event are available. In the mean time, enjoy these photos from Leah and Devin’s engagement session!
Downtown Indianapolis Couples Session
It’s always so fun when I have the privilege of shooting with a fellow photographer, especially when I get to shoot and an adorable couple’s session in downtown Indianapolis. Kaylee is the face behind Kaylee Creighton Photography, We have a very similar shooting and editing style, so it worked out perfectly for us to meet up and exchange sessions. I took photos of her, her boyfriend Levi, and their adorable golden doodle puppy, Sophie for their Christmas cards. I also took some head shots for Kaylee while we were there. In exchange, Kaylee took some photos of Andry and I, which I will share in my next blog post.
The Central Library is one of my new favorite spots for sessions downtown. I started using this location when the construction at the War Memorial caused me to not be able to use that spot anymore, but I quickly became obsessed with the library’s gorgeous architecture. I always love to find clean backgrounds to bring more attention to the couple in the photo, and the library definitely provides that. I also love the warm glow that comes through the windows from the outside.
Right across from the library is an open green area lined with sidewalks and trees. I almost couldn’t believe it when I showed up downtown, and realized that these trees still had beautiful fall colored leaves on them! Almost all of the trees in the city are bare by now, but I loved that there was still a little bit of fall left in downtown Indianapolis.
Kaylee, Levi, and Sophie are just the cutest little family. I loved getting to work with them. And I always love when couples bring their dogs to their session! Sophie is still a puppy, and she gets to excited, but we managed to get her looking at the camera for a few perfect shots. She did so well! I love all of the adorable photos that came from this session.
