This was such a special family session that I had the honor of photographing in Travelers Rest, SC. The best thing about being a family photographer in Travelers Rest, South Carolina is all of the beautiful locations and options for backdrops for photos. From stunning mountain views to gorgeous flower fields to blooming fruit trees in the spring to christmas tree farms in the winter to stunning lakes and woods.
This was the second time I’ve gotten to photograph this sweet family here in Travelers Rest in this same beautiful wooded pond. The first time was when I took their very first family photos as a family of six. That was back in the spring while the daphodils were in bloom!
I also took a sweet and sentimental highlight video for this family!

Winter Golden Hour Family Photos at Furman University
Let this family photo session be your sign that you can get beautiful, colorful, sunny, golden hour family photos even in the middle of winter. These photos were taken on December 22. And they are some of my favorite family photos that I’ve ever taken here in the Greenville, SC area. Arielle really loves the colors and vibrance of spring, but she also really wanted photos of her babies before they get too much bigger. She regretted not getting newborn photos with her youngest, so she didn’t want to wait too long for photos. She asked me to find a spot that would still be green even in the winter. I knew the perfect spot. Furman University has so many beautiful spots that are still beautiful and green in the winter.

Golden Hour Family Session Highlight Video
This sweet family was my final family session highlight video of 2024. I’m so excited to start focusing even more on session videos in 2025. Of course, I will still be offering family and newborn photos. But imagine receiving a sweet highlight video like this in addition to your family or newborn photos. Without having to add on any additional time to your session. And without any additional stress on your end. You most likely wont even notice me switching back and forth between photo and video while I capture the sweet magic of your family playing and loving on each other.

Greenville, SC backyard and in home family Christmas photos
I’ve been loving getting to photograph lots of last minute family Christmas photos this year! Jenna, who is a fellow photographer, reached out to me last week hoping to get some last minute family photos before Christmas! Luckily I was able to squeeze her into my schedule last minute! She has a big family with her, her husband, and their six kids! I always love getting to photograph big families. They are so much fun!
Jenna wanted photos of all of them in front of the Christmas tree in their home in Greer, in their back yard, and on their front porch. I love the personalization and the authenticity of in home and backyard family photos! Especially for Christmas photos!
In home photos are such a sweet alternative to outdoor photos in the winter. Studios are a nice option, too. But definitely don’t discount in home photos!

Extended Family Christmas Photos at Greenville Rental Studio
It’s the time of year when family comes into town that you don’t get to see all the time. It’s the time of year when everyone wants extended family Christmas photos. A lot of times, families love to gift these extended family sessions to the grandparents for Christmas. Or they just want photos with aging family members who may not be around forever. This year, I was excited to have availability for right around Christmas and New Years time to photograph all of the extended families who are in town for the holidays as well as college kids home on winter break. This was my first time photographing a family session at Greenville Rental Studio. The studio was all set up with two different Christmas sets as well as different couch and seating options.

I am so excited to be an aunt to my newest nephew in January! Winter maternity photos are so sweet! It even started snowing during Nicole and Brandon’s winter maternity photos!
It’s a good thing I’m used to photographing mini sessions, because these photos has to be quick!! It was only 10 degrees outside, freezing, and snowing. So my goal was to take a wide variety of beautiful photos in multiple locations, BUT to do it as quickly as possible. We used a beautiful park, a cute downtown area, and then we used Nicole and Brandon’s beautiful new home at the end of the session.

I can’t wait to photograph Nicole and Brandon’s newborn photos with their baby boy when he arrives in late January or early February! Baby Everett is already so loved! I can’t wait for my little girls to have another cousin!

Winter Family Photos at Furman University
I was so excited when Kari found me to photograph and video her sweet family when she was looking for a family photographer and videographer for her winter family photos here in Greenville, South Carolina. She shared with me that these are actually their first family photos with their second daughter! They have lots of family photos with their first daughter before their second was born, but when they bought a new house, they really wanted to decorate the walls of their home with framed photos of all four of them!
Speaking from experience as a mama, I can tell you that you can really feel that something is missing before you get photos on the wall with your newest baby. I know I wanted to get new family photos on my walls as soon as possible after my youngest was born. I didn’t want her to be left out!
We took these photos in the middle of December in freezing cold on a dreary day in December, but they still turned out so beautiful! Kari wore one of the dresses from my client closet! All mamas and babies are welcome to use outfits from my client closet for their newborn or family photos! You can see all of the dress options in my client closet here.

In Home Christmas Newborn Photos in Greenville, SC
It was such an honor to be this sweet family’s maternity and newborn photographer and videographer! Did you know that I offer package deals for maternity and newborn photos? We took these indoor lifestyle newborn photos at the couple’s home in Taylors, South Carolina. They had put up their tree and decorated their home for Christmas just a few days before baby Caden was born! I loved including the Christmas tree as well as the dogs in their newborn photos!

In Studio First Birthday Photos in Greenville, SC
It was such an honor to take sweet Bella’s first birthday photos inside of White Wall Studios in Taylors, South Carolina here in the Greenville, SC area. I brought a little wooden child size chair for her to sit on for some photos. Her mom and dad brought some pink balloons, a birthday hat, and a giant “1” balloon.
We also took some professional family photos afterwards for all three of them as well! It was so sweet to learn that these are actually their first professional family photos! I love how many sweet ideas Bella’s mama had for her first birthday photos.
I also took a sweet little highlight video for this family that I will post soon!

Winter Family Session Highlight Video

Creative Gender Reveal Video with Flowers
I love being able to offer sweet highlight videos for my family and newborn session photo clients in addition to the photos that are included in their package. Video is such a sweet addition to the photos from once in a lifetime memories but also just the sweet every day mundane moments of family life that represent the sweet fleeting season of life that you’re in right now.
Kristen and Julian opted for an indoor picnic set up by their fireplace and their Christmas tree in their home. It was the perfect indoor winter gender reveal idea. They opened their picnic basket to reveal either pink or blue flowers. ….aaannnddd it’s a girl!! Little Hadley Jo is going to be so loved!
I used a three camera set up to capture lots of different angles for this sweet gender reveal.

Creative Gender Reveal Idea
It was such an honor to first photograph Julian and Kristen’s pregnancy announcement photos in their home and now to be in their in gender reveal photographer! It is so special to be invited into such important moments for families. Kristen and Julian had the most creative ideas for their gender reveal! They had the gender results sent to a family member who then purchased a picnic basket. When Kristen and Julian opened the basket, it would be filled with either pink or blue flowers, revealing the gender of their newborn baby!
Since this gender reveal happened just two weeks before Christmas, the winter weather here in Greenville was pretty cold. So the parents to be opted for a little indoor picnic in front of the fireplace and Christmas tree.
….annndddd IT’S A GIRL!
Kristen knew that it would would be a girl, and it was so fun to photograph their reactions to the sweet news of their DAUGHTER, Hadley Jo!!

Luxury Newborn Photographer Greenville, South Carolina
It was such a sweet joy to capture Arden Lily’s Newborn photos in addition to her newborn highlight video. You can see her highlight video here. I love getting to capture both newborn photos and newborn videos for my sweet families. Arden’s family owns the most stunning luxury home in Taylors, SC here in the Greenville, South Carolina area. As a photographer, of course I always appreciate homes with stunning natural light.
Arden waas four weeks old during her in home lifestyle newborn photo session. As an in home lifestyle photographer, I don’t mind photographing older newborns at all! I know some photographers prefer babies under two weeks old, but I have photographed newborn sessions for babies ranging from 24 hours old to 3 months old. While the tiny sleepy babies are so special, I also love when mama is feeling a little more herself and the family is getting into a nice routine with their newest little addition.
