For this session we met at sunrise, and the glow on the water was worth the early wakeup.

From the first few minutes, these four settled right in and had fun together. Big sister rode on Dad’s shoulders, Mom cuddled their baby boy in the sweetest denim overalls, and we let the morning unfold naturally. 50th Anniversary Photos in Greenville, SC
I was overjoyed when one of my previous family photography clients reached out to me this week. She told me her parents are celebrating their 50 year wedding anniversary! As a gift to her dear parents, she wanted to give them a mini couples photo session. I absolutely LOVE the idea of a photoshoot as a gift. And I LOVE taking anniversary photos for married couples. As a former wedding photographer, it brings me such joy to celebrate with couples year after year as they remember their own wedding day. It is truly worth celebrating, especially 50 years of wedding anniversaries! And there is no better way to celebrate than with sweet couples photos in my opinion.
John and Jamie were so sweet and fun to photograph! We took these photos right in their neighborhood in five forks. It was a beautiful, quiet spot with a stone bridge, a waterfall, a creek, and miles and miles of trails through the woods. I always love getting to find new locations in the Greenville, SC area to take photos! Outdoor Newborn Mini Session In Greenville, South Carolina
This sweet family joined me for my sunrise rose garden mini sessions in downtown Greenville, South Carolina at the Shaw Rose Garden. They had a brand new 2 month old newborn baby that they really wanted photos of, and when they found me online, they said my mini sessions were exactly what they were looking for. They really wanted an outdoor newborn mini session. The 7 year old and 3 year old were so much fun. They were so sweet with their new baby sister, Goldie.
I brought a little moses basket for the 2 month old baby in order to get some cute newborn photos of her among the beautiful summer roses in the garden. We also made sure to get lots of great sibling photos and full family photos, and of course, lots of sweet candid moments with this new family of 5 with their sweet newest newborn baby sister.

Beach Sunrise Family Photos on Tybee Island
While we were on Tybee Island on an extended family vacation last week, I had the honor of taking some family photos for my sister, my brother in law, and my little baby nephew. We took these at 6:30am at sunrise on the beach. Luckily, we were staying in a condo right ON the beach, so it wasn’t a far walk. And we all agreed that these photos were worth the 6am wake up call. The specific location where we were staying on Tybee Island, the sun rose over the beach. So it was absolutely stunning taking these photos with the beautiful sunrise backlighting. The other benefit of sunrise beach photos is that it’s not nearly as crowded. The beaches at Tybee Island are very popular and are still crowded late into the day at sunset. But at sunrise, there are far fewer bystanders to edit out of the background of the the photos. We were staying right by the pier on Tybee Island, which I loved including in some of the photos as well.
Little Everett is 6 months old and VERY smiley. He was such a joy to photograph. Even at the early sunrise time of day. He has the biggest eyes and I always say he looks like the surprised emoji!

Sunset Family Photos At Furman University
This sunset family photo session at Furman University was one of my all time favorites. The love between every member of this family was SO evident. The connections were sweet. They came ready to play and have fun, which is all I need from the families I photograph! My aim is to show off your love and connections and give you photos full of joy, laughter, and memories.
The beautiful golden hour glow through the trees added stunning lighting to this photoshoot. We used all of my favorite Furman locations like the rose garden, the gazebo, the japanese garden, the koi pond, and the shi institute. AND we tried out a new spot I haven’t used before. We ended out session on the front lawn in front of the fountain with the beautiful mountain view. I couldn’t have asked for anything more!

The perfect time of year for fall photos in Greenville, SC
With so many summer and fall mini session dates and locations to choose from this year, a lot of you have been asking me: when is the perfect time to book my fall family photos?
Well, it totally depends on what you're looking for! Let me break it down for you!
If you want beautiful, rich, green trees and vibrant flowers, September and early October will be perfect!
If you want the yellows, reds, and oranges that come with the changing leaves in the fall, late October and early November are the prime time for fall colors in Greenville!

This session took place right in the heart of downtown Greenville at one of my favorite flower-filled gardens. The timing was perfect—soft evening light, blooming roses, and lots of love. Every detail felt peaceful, natural, and beautifully sentimental.

Outdoor Newborn Photos in Travelers Rest, SC

In Home Extended Family Photos in Simpsonville, SC
Lately, many families have been requesting that I come to their home to take extended family photos for them. I think I love in home extended family photos even more than outdoor extended family photos. Being in your own home allows for a more authentic vibe and a cozier feel to the photos. Two things that are so important to me as a photographer. I want my families to look and feel relaxed and connected to each other throughout our photo session together.
I’ve also been having a few new parents recently who want grandma and grandpa to join in on their newborn session, and honestly, I’m all for it! It’s so sweet to have another set of family members who love baby. joining in on the photoshoot. And I don’t charge anything extra to bring extra family members! Extended family photos are the same price as immediate family photos when you book with me!
This session was the sweetest mix between extended family photos as well as newborn photos for the first grandchild of the family. It was such a joy to photograph this in home extended newborn family photo session in this gorgeous new build home in Simpsonville, SC.

In Home Newborn Photographers Simpsonville, SC
One of my most unpopular newborn photography opinions (at least among other Greenville newborn photographers) is that newborn photos don’t HAVE to be taken within two or three weeks of birth. Of course, I love those one week old babies, but I also love photographing two month old and three month old babies! This in home newborn photoshoot in Simpsonville, SC was a wonderful example of that! Baby Sophia was two and a half months old, and this newborn photoshoot was absolute perfection!
We took baby Sophia’s newborn photos with her mom and dad inside of her Grandparents’ beautiful new home in Simpsonville, South Carolina. The grandma is actually an interior designer for a living, so as you can imagine, the home was absolutely stunning. The perfect home for newborn photos!
Both mom and baby took advantage of my client closet! Montse chose a stunning blue and white dress from Worth Collective while baby sophia wore a cute pink outfit from Target and a little white bow from amazon.

The Best Locations in Greenville, South Carolina For Family Photos
I get asked by my family photography clients all the time: what are the best locations in the Greenville, South Carolina area for Family Photos? But I also wanted to create a resource for anyone looking for the best locations to take photos in Greenville, South Carolina! So here are my top 7 favorite family photo locations.
Furman University
Furman University is my all time favorite photography location in Greenville. It has so much variety in backdrops to choose from within walking distance or a short drive. It has a beautiful rose garden, a Japanese garden, open fields, woods, and even a mountain view. It’s also stunning in every single season. It has evergreen trees that stay green even in the winter. It has beautiful flowers in the spring. It hash luscious greens in the summer. And it has stunning fall colors in the fall. The beautiful water view of the lake is a favorite of many families.
2. Liberty Bridge
Liberty Bridge on the Reedy River is located right in the heart of downtown Greenville, South Carolina. The view of the big downtown waterfalls and the Greenville skyline is a staple of downtown Greenville. It’s one of the things that makes our little city so unique. It’s one of the spots that makes families fall in love with Greenville when they are considering moving here. Or when they are exploring and getting to know the city for the first time. Liberty bridge can be crowded. Morning photoshoots are best at this location to avoid the crowds. Plus, the morning lighting in downtown Greenville can’t be beat!
3. Hotel Domestique
Hotel Domestique has a special place in my heart! I actually got married here! If you’ve ever been to restaurant 17, Hotel Domestique is the hotel that’s attached to the restaurant. This location has the absolute BEST mountain views in the Greenville area. That’s why we chose to get married here! The fee to use this location for photoshoots is $275, but it’s worth every penny if you have the extra room in your budget.
4. Paris Mountain State Park
Paris Mountain State Park has been one of my favorite locations in Greenville since I first moved here. I fell in love with the peaceful trails and the serene lake. There’s even a beautiful beach area. Paris Mountain is especially popular for family photos in the fall. It’s one of the my beautiful woodsy areas are Greenville, which gives it the most stunning colors in the fall. The reds, golds, and oranges usually peak around early-mid November.
5. Falls Park
Falls Park in downtown Greenville is a classic spot for family photos. But what most people don’t know is that this little hidden gem is just across the open grassy area, tucked away across a little bridge. This small waterfall with stone path and cute mossy steps makes for the perfect, unique little spot for family photos in downtown Greenville.
6. Conestee Nature Preserve
My family photography clients tell me all the time that they’re looking for the perfect open field with tall grass. And the absolute best grassy field in the Greenville, SC area is at Conestee Nature Preserve. The stunning large trees make for the perfect golden hour glow. I always love to recommend this beautiful spot.
7. Cleveland Park
Cleveland Park is near downtown Greenville. It’s the perfect location for families that need close easy parking with young kids or families with mobility issues that need sidewalks. I love the ease of access, the close and free parking, and the beautiful trees. The open shade mades Cleveland Park stunning at any time of day. It’s any pretty at any time of year. This location is great for families who love the simple, classic green background.

Photographing Extended Family Sessions is something that I get to do quite often as a Greenville Family Photographer, and it is always so much fun! I love getting to capture the generations of love from grandparents to their children and down to their grandchildren. I find that lots of my clients love to gift extended family photoshoots to their parents for Christmas each year! It’s a great way to get updated extended family photos as your family grows and expands with new sons-in-law and daughters-in-law and new grandchildren. Grandparents love to hang those big group family photos on the walls of their home.
As a photographer who photographs lots of family mini sessions, it makes it easy to get lots of amazing photos of each family combination during extended family photos. I essentially treat it like a mini session day. I get lots of those big group extended family photos and then different combinations, then I essentially do a little mini photoshoot of each individual immediate family. Plus lots of photos of the grandparents with their grandkids. And you can’t forget couples photos. Especially those sweet couples photos of grandma and grandpa together! Those are the ones that will get passed down some day and will be such a treasure to future generations.
