Conestee Nature Preserve Family Photos

The cool, crisp air and the warm and fuzzy feelings of the fall season are starting to make their way to Greenville, South Carolina. Conestee Nature Preserve near Mauldin, SC is a wonderful location to celebrate the autumn season. Tall grassy fields and big, beautiful trees make Greenville feel like a totally different country. Surrounded by the beauty of nature is the perfect place to be for your fall family photos in Greenville, South Carolina.

The sweet family in the photos below signed up for my open grassy field fall mini sessions in Greenville at the Conestee Nature Preserve. This is one of the most popular spots for my clients for family photos. It’s a location that’s a little bit off the beaten path, so it’s not usually too crowded. It’s one of those places you can only find if you already know how to get there (or if you know someone who does, like your photographer). They had two fun and energetic little boys who loved to run and play. We made sure to use that energy for lots of authentic poses for their family. I love bringing our a family’s natural personalities in their family photos.

If you’re looking for your own family mini session, I would love to see your family at my next round of family mini sessions. You can see my current list of mini session openings by clicking right here.

Engagement Photos in Greenville, SC

If you’ve just gotten engaged and are looking for a way to capture that joyful, just-said-yes feeling, you’re going to love this session. This sweet couple got engaged earlier that same day in downtown Greenville at Liberty Bridge, and we met later that afternoon for their mini session at Conestee Nature Preserve — one of my favorite grassy field locations in Greenville, SC.

A Mini Session That Feels Anything But “Mini”

Mini sessions are perfect for couples who want a taste of a full session without the full-length commitment. Whether you’ve just gotten engaged, want updated photos for your save-the-dates, or simply want to celebrate this season together, a mini session gives you gorgeous, heartfelt images that still feel full of emotion and connection.

The Perfect Setting: Conestee Nature Preserve

Conestee’s tall golden grasses and soft light make it one of my go-to spots for engagement sessions. The warm tones and open fields create a romantic, natural backdrop that complements every couple’s style. It’s quiet, private, and feels like you’ve escaped the city while still being just minutes from downtown Greenville.

Newly Engaged and Glowing

These two were still floating from the excitement of their engagement earlier that morning. You can see it in every photo — the way they looked at each other, the laughter between them, and the quiet moments that felt so genuine. They were absolutely glowing.

If you’re searching for engagement photographers in Greenville, SC, I’d love to help you capture this incredible season of your life. Whether you’re dreaming of photos in a grassy field, downtown Greenville, or a place that’s meaningful to you both, we’ll create something that feels like you.

At Home Mini Family Mini Session Photographer in downtown Greenville, SC

If you’ve ever dreamed of capturing your family’s love and connection in the place you love most — your home — this session is the perfect inspiration. This sweet family chose to have their mini session right at their newly renovated home in downtown Greenville, and it could not have been more beautiful.

Their white brick home with warm wood accents made the perfect backdrop for cozy, timeless family photos. We spent part of their session on the front steps, where the family laughed and snuggled together, and part of it inside — where the morning light poured through their arched windows. The space felt elegant yet relaxed, and every image captured how loved and cherished their little girl is.

What I love most about at-home mini sessions is how personal they are. Instead of choosing one of my usual outdoor locations, this family decided to make their session extra meaningful by photographing right where their story is unfolding. Whether your home is newly renovated, full of character, or simply the place where your family feels most like you, an at-home session turns your everyday surroundings into the perfect backdrop for memories you’ll treasure forever.

When you book a mini session with Michelle Poteet Photography, you get the flexibility to choose your own location — whether that’s your home, a favorite park, or one of my go-to Greenville spots. These shorter sessions are ideal for families who want a handful of updated photos without the full session time commitment.

If you’ve been thinking about scheduling your next family photos, consider doing them at home. It’s a beautiful way to preserve this season of life right where it’s happening.

Studio Newborn Photographer in Greer, South Carolina

If you’re searching for a studio newborn photographer in Greer, South Carolina, I recently had the sweetest session that perfectly captures why I love studio newborn sessions so much. This precious family of five welcomed their newest baby girl, and the love between them was absolutely beautiful to witness.

With a big sister who’s five and a little brother who’s three, there was no shortage of tender hugs, tiny kisses, and proud smiles. Both older siblings were so gentle with their baby sister — you could just feel how much they already adore her. Watching their little hands softly rest on her swaddle and seeing their excitement when it was their turn to hold her melted my heart.

We photographed this session at Radiant Collective Studio in downtown Greer, a gorgeous natural-light space that’s perfect for newborn sessions. The bright, airy atmosphere and neutral tones made every moment feel calm and timeless. I brought along a few of my favorite wraps and swaddles, and mama chose a beautiful dress from my client closet that fit the studio’s soft, dreamy light perfectly.

One of my favorite parts of this session was photographing the whole family snuggled together — five hearts connected in one frame. These early days of adjusting to life as a family of five can feel like a blur, but through these photos, this sweet family can remember exactly how it felt to welcome their tiny baby girl home.

Whether you’re a first-time parent or growing your family, studio newborn sessions are a wonderful way to capture this season in a relaxed, beautiful environment — no cleaning your house or worrying about light. Just your family, your love, and your baby’s first moments.

If you’re looking for a Greer studio newborn photographer, I’d love to capture these fleeting moments for you. You can learn more about my newborn photo and video sessions or download my newborn session pricing guide for all the details.

Studio Newborn Cinematic Video

When you welcome a new baby, the days feel both fleeting and unforgettable. A studio newborn cinematic video gives you a way to hold on to those first details forever. Unlike still portraits alone, film lets you relive the soft movements, the little sighs, and the way your family looks at each other in these earliest weeks.

For this session, I loved photographing and filming baby Emma at Radiant Studio Collective in downtown Greer. The studio’s white walls, light wood floors, and touches of blue created a calm, airy backdrop that paired beautifully with the family’s soft color palette. Jen wore one of my favorite Worth Collective dresses from the client closet, and both girls looked timeless in coordinating blue florals and neutrals. Every detail flowed together seamlessly, allowing the focus to stay on connection.

Why choose a newborn video

Photographs preserve beauty, but video preserves feeling. In Emma’s film, you’ll see her big sister’s gentle touch, her tiny toes curled against a swaddle, and the way her parents look at her with complete joy. It’s just two minutes long, but it tells the whole story of love welcoming a new life.

Planning your own studio newborn session

If you want a stress-free way to capture both photos and video, a studio newborn cinematic video may be the perfect choice. You don’t need to prepare your home or shop for outfits—I provide wardrobe options for moms, babies, and toddlers so you can simply arrive and enjoy.

Whether you choose a highlight film, photos, or both, these memories will become heirlooms your family treasures for generations.

In Home Newborn Photographers in Simpsonville, SC

There is nothing quite like welcoming your baby home. For this sweet family in Simpsonville, their newborn session was all about comfort, connection, and soaking in the beauty of those early weeks. Their baby girl was just three weeks old, and every detail of this session reflected the tenderness of that season—soft swaddles, gentle light, and the quiet rhythm of life at home.

As a Simpsonville newborn photographer, I believe the most meaningful sessions happen where families are most at ease. This one unfolded in their living spaces, with plenty of time to pause, breathe, and simply enjoy their little one.

Meet the Family

This session featured just mom, dad, and their newborn daughter. New parents, still in that dreamy haze of early days, their joy was written across every smile and cuddle. At three weeks old, their baby girl gave us the perfect mix of sleepy stretches and alert glances, a reminder of how quickly babies change in such a short time.

Location & Light

The session took place in their Simpsonville home, which was filled with soft natural light. We moved between the master bedroom and the living room, spaces that offered both warmth and intimacy. Shooting in-home always allows families to relax into the experience, and it ensures the photos feel deeply personal—backdrops that are part of their daily life.

Wardrobe & Details

Mom chose two dresses from my client closet, each flowing and timeless, designed to photograph beautifully against the light neutral tones of their home. Their baby wore several swaddles and tiny outfits from my collection, adding variety without any stress on the family. One of the session’s favorite details was the moses basket—a simple, classic prop that highlighted just how little their daughter was in those first weeks.

Favorite Moments

Some of my favorite images from this session included:

  • Mom reclining on the bed, holding her baby close with a look of pure joy.

  • Dad leaning in gently, his hand resting softly as he admired his little one.

  • Baby snuggled in the moses basket, swaddled in cream and perfectly content.

  • The three of them gathered together, quiet laughter filling the room.

  • Tiny details—fingers, toes, and baby’s soft gaze—captured in close portraits.

Each moment was real, unhurried, and filled with love.

Planning Your Own Session

Lifestyle newborn photography is designed to be relaxed and meaningful. With access to my client closet, carefully selected swaddles, and timeless props, every detail is taken care of so you can simply enjoy the experience. Sessions flow at your baby’s pace, with plenty of time for feeding, changing, and snuggles. The result is a collection of images that feel both beautiful and deeply personal—a true reflection of your family’s love in this fleeting season.

Newborn Photographers and Videographers in Simpsonville, SC

Welcoming a new baby is a season you never want to forget. This sweet family invited me into their Simpsonville home when their little one was just three weeks old. Together, we created a newborn video that captured the tender rhythm of their early days—slow snuggles, soft laughter, and the gentle way parents naturally fall into step with their baby. As newborn photographers and videographers in Simpsonville, SC, my goal is always to preserve not just how these moments look, but how they feel.

Meet the Family

It was just mom, dad, and their tiny newborn, cozy in their home. These first-time parents were in that beautiful stage of wonder—completely in love, completely devoted, and soaking in every detail of their baby’s early days. At three weeks old, their little one was both alert and cuddly, giving us the sweetest mix of sleepy snuggles and wide-eyed gazes.

Location & Light

The comfort of home made this session so relaxed. We moved through a few favorite rooms where natural light poured in, wrapping everything in a soft glow. There’s something grounding about being in your own space during those first weeks. Parents settle more easily, and babies pick up on that calm. In-home newborn sessions in Simpsonville are always a favorite because they allow families to stay comfortable and present.

Wardrobe & Details

Mom looked beautiful in two flowing dresses from my client closet, each one chosen to complement the soft palette of their home. Their baby wore several swaddles and outfits from my collection, with textures that added warmth and variety throughout the film. One of my favorite touches was the moses basket, which created timeless, tender scenes and highlighted just how small and precious their little one was in these first weeks.

Favorite Moments from the Video

This highlight film, just over two minutes long, is filled with simple, meaningful moments. Dad swayed gently with the baby tucked against his chest, soaking in the stillness. Mom’s laughter lit up the room as she cradled her little one close. The three of them gathered on the bed for quiet cuddles, their connection so natural and strong. And in between, I captured close-ups of tiny fingers, sleepy stretches, and the details that change so quickly but mean so much.

Why Add a Newborn Video

Photographs freeze a moment beautifully, but video brings it to life. This family now has a film that holds not just images but movements, sounds, and emotions. The way their baby’s chest rose and fell, the soft coos, the way mom brushed her hand across tiny hair—these are treasures that grow more valuable with time. A newborn video becomes a family heirloom, something you’ll return to again and again as your child grows.

Planning Your Own Session

If you’re dreaming of newborn photos or video in Simpsonville, know that every detail is cared for. From wardrobe to swaddles to props like the moses basket, everything you need is ready for you. Sessions are relaxed and child-led, with plenty of time for feeding, changing, or just catching your breath. The result is timeless imagery and film that reflect your family’s love in this fleeting season.

Extended Family Photographers in Travelers Rest, SC

There’s something so special about gathering multiple generations together for one photo session. This sweet extended family chose to meet me at a private garden property in Travelers Rest, SC, where we celebrated their love, connection, and legacy with a relaxed fall mini session.

We started with the full group — grandparents surrounded by their children and grandchildren — before moving into smaller groupings. Each individual family had their own set of portraits, which made the gallery such a wonderful mix of big moments and intimate ones. From playful cousins to sweet couple portraits of the adults, every branch of the family tree had their time to shine.

I especially loved the soft blue and neutral color palette they chose for their wardrobe. It kept the photos cohesive without feeling too coordinated, and the timeless styling worked beautifully against the garden backdrop. The laughter of the little ones kept us all smiling, and the grandparents beamed with pride the entire time.

Extended family sessions like this are such a gift — they’re not just about capturing photos for today, but about creating memories that children and grandchildren will look back on years from now.

If you’re planning a family reunion, holiday gathering, or just want to celebrate the beautiful legacy of your family, an extended family mini session is the perfect way to preserve those moments.

Baby’s First Birthday Garden Mini Session | Travelers Rest Photographers

A Morning Garden Mini Session in Travelers Rest, SC

There’s something magical about a baby’s first birthday session. Blair’s milestone session took place on my sister- and brother-in-law’s private property in Travelers Rest, South Carolina. Their gardens, greenhouse, and fields are the perfect setting for photographs. I feel so grateful to be the only Travelers Rest photographer with access to this special place.

This family has been in front of my camera before, which made our time together even sweeter. Watching their little girl grow and capturing her first year was such a joy.

Meet the Family

Blair turned one just in time for this fall morning session. She arrived in the sweetest floral romper with a tiny bow, her smile lighting up every frame. Her parents dressed in soft neutrals, keeping the focus on their daughter while still creating a timeless, elegant look.

Location & Light

The private gardens in Travelers Rest are always a dream to photograph, but they’re especially magical in the morning. Golden light filtered through the trees, creating a glow that wrapped around the family. Between the greenhouse, blooming hydrangeas, and wide-open fields, every angle offered something beautiful.

Wardrobe & Details

For Blair’s milestone portraits, I brought along a little wooden chair, a picnic blanket, and a white “one” sign. These touches helped highlight her first birthday while still keeping the session relaxed and organic. The family’s wardrobe paired perfectly with the greens and golds of the garden, giving the images a soft, timeless feel.

Favorite Moments

  • Blair clutching her stuffed bunny on the wooden chair, morning light all around her.

  • Sweet giggles as she reached for the “one” sign.

  • Barefoot play with her parents on the lawn, laughter filling the air.

  • A tender moment when Dad kissed Mom’s temple while she held Blair close.

  • Blair perched on Dad’s shoulders, pointing toward the trees as Mom looked on with joy.

Each moment was filled with connection, reminding me why milestone sessions matter so much.

Planning Your Own Session

Milestone sessions are a beautiful way to pause and remember these fleeting stages. Whether it’s a first birthday, six months, or any age in between, these photos tell the story of your family right now. Cinematic Newborn Session Video

Cinematic Newborn Session Video

There is something truly magical about welcoming a new baby into your family. Photos are beautiful and timeless, but sometimes movement and sound tell the story in a way still images cannot. That is where a Cinematic Newborn Session Video comes in.

Why Add Video to Your Newborn Session?

A highlight video captures the little moments that make these first days so special. The way your newborn stretches, the soft sound of a yawn, or the way siblings lean in close to kiss their baby brother — these are fleeting memories that video preserves forever.

This family’s newborn session in Simpsonville was full of tender and joyful moments. The sisters snuggled in tight to hold their baby brother, mom rocked him gently in her arms, and dad admired every tiny detail. Filmed alongside their photography session, the cinematic video brought all of these sweet interactions to life in a way that photos alone cannot.

Storytelling Through Movement

The beauty of a Cinematic Newborn Session Video is that it feels like a family film. Instead of stiff poses, everything is natural and full of connection. The family laughs, cuddles, and soaks in their baby’s newness while I quietly capture it all on film. The result is a timeless keepsake that will only grow in value as the years go by.

What You Can Expect

When you book a photo and video session, the experience is simple and seamless. I photograph all the sweet portraits you expect, while also capturing short video clips that tell the story of your family’s love. The final highlight film is about 2–3 minutes long — the perfect length to share with loved ones or display in your home.

Preserve Your Memories in Motion

If you are looking for a way to preserve not just how your newborn looks, but also how this season feels, a Cinematic Newborn Session Video is the perfect choice. These films are heartfelt, emotional, and unique to your family’s story.

You can book your newborn photo and video session directly through my website, or download my newborn pricing guide to learn more about adding a cinematic highlight film to your experience.

Serving families in Greenville, Simpsonville, and across the Upstate, I would be honored to capture your baby’s first days in both photos and film.

Simpsonville Newborn Baby Photographer

There is nothing sweeter than photographing a brand-new baby in those first few weeks of life. As a Simpsonville newborn baby photographer, I get to capture all the tiny details that parents never want to forget — from the wrinkly toes and soft baby skin to the wide-eyed looks and peaceful sleepy smiles.

Capturing Baby’s First Days

This little one was an absolute dream to photograph. Wrapped snugly in a cozy white swaddle, he alternated between quiet awake time and sweet naps, giving us the perfect mix of expressions. One of my favorite parts of this session was documenting his tiny feet up close — a detail that changes so quickly but is so worth preserving forever.

Newborn photography is about more than just portraits. It’s about storytelling. These images show what life looks like in those first days, when time seems to both stand still and race by.

Simple, Timeless Portraits

I love keeping newborn photography simple, with natural light, soft textures, and neutral tones that let the baby shine. The focus is always on the little one — their features, their movements, and their unique personality even at just a few days old.

This baby’s session was filled with calm and joy. From his big, curious eyes gazing up at the camera to his peaceful stretches and yawns, every photo is a reminder of how fleeting and beautiful these first weeks are.

Newborn Baby and Sibling Photographer in Simpsonville

Newborn Baby and Sibling Photographer in Simpsonville

One of the sweetest parts of being a newborn baby and sibling photographer in Simpsonville is capturing the bond between a brand-new baby and the siblings who are so excited to welcome them. This session was filled with tender moments between two big sisters and their brand-new baby brother. At just nine days old, he was already surrounded by love, and it was a joy to document the way his sisters adored him.

Sisters Welcoming Their Baby Brother

These two sisters were over the moon about their little brother. Dressed in matching blue dresses with big white bows, they couldn’t wait to hold him, kiss him, and cuddle him close. From snuggling on the bed to sweet giggles and even playful moments, their excitement and love were overflowing.

Photographing siblings with their new baby is always special because it tells the story of growing families. The way these girls looked at their brother with pride and joy is something their parents will treasure forever.

Sweet Lifestyle Details

We spent time capturing the sisters holding their brother together, gently taking turns cradling him, and even lying on the bed with their favorite stuffed animals. These kinds of photos not only show the connection between siblings but also freeze the little details of this season — the matching dresses, the tiny swaddled baby, and the joyful chaos of life with three little ones.

Why Sibling Photos Matter

Adding a new baby to the family is a big change for everyone, especially older siblings. Including brothers and sisters in newborn photography helps them feel celebrated and part of the moment. It also gives families a collection of memories that highlight the relationships forming right from the start.

As your photographer, I love guiding children through these sessions in a way that feels fun and relaxed. Whether they are snuggling close or showing off their playful side, the goal is always to capture authentic connection that families can look back on for years.

At Home Newborn Photography in Greenville, SC

At Home Newborn Photography in Greenville, SC

There is something incredibly special about photographing families in their own home during those first days with a new baby. As a photographer who specializes in at home newborn photography in Greenville SC, I love creating images that feel natural, comfortable, and deeply personal. This sweet family welcomed me into their home to celebrate their baby boy’s arrival, and their joyful and calm presence made the entire session such a gift to capture.

A Joyful and Calm Family Session

This family radiates love for one another. Their two daughters were so excited to meet their little brother and showered him with gentle hugs and kisses throughout the session. Dad’s tenderness with his son was beautiful to watch, and mom was glowing as she held him close. The way they interacted with one another made it clear just how much love fills this home.

Capturing the Little Details

At only nine days old, this baby boy was still in that dreamy newborn stage, full of yawns, stretches, and tiny features you never want to forget. We spent time in several rooms of the home — the master bedroom, the living room, and the entryway — which gave us a variety of looks while still keeping the session relaxed and easy. I love how at-home sessions allow us to capture not just portraits but also the feeling of family life during this season.

Mom looked stunning in two dresses from my client closet — a timeless white gown from Henly and a soft blue toile dress from Worth Collective. These dresses photographed beautifully against the natural light in their home and added an elegant touch without any extra stress for mom.

Why Choose an At Home Newborn Session

One of the best parts about photographing your baby at home is the comfort it provides. You don’t have to pack a bag or leave the house, and your baby stays in a space that feels familiar and calm. Parents can relax knowing they don’t need to prepare anything elaborate. I guide families through gentle posing, capture candid moments as they unfold, and bring along wardrobe options to make the process simple. My goal is always to help you feel at ease and to deliver photos that reflect your family’s love and connection.
