We had so much fun at my summer rose garden mini sessions in downtown Greenville, South Carolina. Despite the heat waves we’ve been having. That’s why summer mini sessions are best in the morning! This sweet family was my first of the day, right at 8am before the heat or the sun were too intense. It was perfect! In the summer in Greenville, the best time of day for outdoor photos is as early as possible! It’s best for the heat AND for the lighting.
This was an adorable family of four. A mom, a dad, a 6 year old boy, and their new labradoodle puppy! All together, they had so much fun! The roses in this downtown garden made for such a beautiful backdrop. June is the height of Rose season here in South Carolina!

There’s something incredibly special about welcoming your baby around the Fourth of July. Maybe it’s the sunshine, the celebration, or just the feeling of new beginnings—but this sweet girl’s session captured all of it. Family Video Sessions at Furman University
Some stories are too powerful for still frames alone. They deserve motion, sound, softness, and the kind of emotion only a video can fully capture.
This sunset family video session at Furman University was one of the most meaningful I’ve ever filmed. The mother of two beautiful girls—ages five and eight—reached out to schedule a session just days after her youngest was diagnosed with cancer. Her daughter had recently undergone emergency brain surgery and would soon begin chemotherapy. Before the effects of treatment took hold, she wanted to preserve her daughters’ laughter, their connection, their joy—just as they are now.
We filmed at several stunning Furman locations: the rose garden, the wide open field with mountain views, and the peaceful lake beside the Shi Institute. As the golden light wrapped around them, I captured their movement, laughter, hugs, and play—little hands holding tightly, hair blowing in the wind, and a mama soaking in the sweetness of her girls.
Family video sessions are powerful. While photos freeze a moment, video allows you to feel it again. You can hear the giggles, see the way your child runs toward you, and remember exactly how it felt to hold them close.

Sunset Family Photos at Furman University
There are moments in life that feel too big for words—when love, strength, and resilience all meet in one tender season. This sunset family session at Furman University was exactly that.
I had the honor of photographing a beautiful mama and her two daughters, ages five and eight, just days after the youngest was diagnosed with cancer. After undergoing emergency brain surgery and preparing to begin chemotherapy, this strong little girl’s mother wanted one thing: to capture the beauty of her girls and this moment together—before the visible signs of treatment began.
We met at Furman University for sunset photos, choosing a few of the most scenic spots on campus: the rose garden, the wide open field with mountain views, and the peaceful grounds around the Shi Institute. The warm golden light wrapped around this trio as they laughed, held hands, and simply soaked up each other’s love. Despite the heaviness of what they’re walking through, their joy and connection radiated through every frame.
Sessions like this are a reminder of why I do what I do. These images are more than pretty pictures—they’re keepsakes of love, courage, and togetherness. They are a way to preserve memories before life shifts and changes.

This sweet in-home newborn session took place just weeks after this beautiful family moved into their new home in Simpsonville, South Carolina. They had recently relocated all the way from Germany as part of an exciting opportunity to help open a new BMW plant right here in the Upstate. While they’re still settling in, this family wanted to document this special season with photos that capture the love and connection they share as a growing family.
We used the sun-filled downstairs of their home to create a warm, peaceful setting for their newborn photos. I brought along one of my favorite cozy wraps for classic solo shots of their baby boy, including a few that highlight those irresistible newborn details—tiny toes, soft swaddles, and dreamy little expressions.
What made this session especially unique was a personal request from the dad. As a car enthusiast (and someone working in the automotive industry), he brought out a few of his model cars to include in the shoot. We were able to capture their little one wrapped up and nestled between two vintage-style red cars—images that will surely become a treasured keepsake for this father and son.
Of course, we also made time for full family photos. There's something incredibly meaningful about capturing these early moments at home—with parents cuddling their newborn and soaking in this fleeting season of new beginnings.

Their little one was all smiles being tossed in the air, snuggled on dad’s shoulders, and crawling around the grass next to his fluffy best friend.

The focus of this photoshoot was to highlight a close-up of the patient’s smile—specifically to show off the transformation made possible by their clear aligner treatment. Johnston Orthodontics wanted a crisp, eye-catching image that would represent their work beautifully on a large-scale billboard across the Upstate. In addition to the primary close-up image, I captured a wide variety of shots to give their marketing team plenty of polished options for web, print, and social media use.
