The Rose Garden at Furman University always makes for a beautiful backdrop, especially for spring family photos.

As a Greenville couples and engagement session photographer, one of my favorite locations for engagement sessions is the Furman Rose Garden! It was the perfect spot for Kelsey and Cody's mini couples session. These two love birds were recently engaged and just wanted a few photos to document this sweet season of their lives together, so a mini engagement session was perfect for them! They booked one of my spring blooms mini sessions in mid April at the Furman Rose Garden. The roses has just started to bloom, and the weather was perfect! Travelers Rest, SC Family Photographer

As a Travelers Rest, SC family photographer, the rose garden at Furman University is one of my absolute favorite locations to take family photos! During mid-April, the roses were just starting to bloom and made for such beautiful spring family photos!

It's always such an honor when other photographers hire me to take their own family photos! It's definitely the ultimate compliment! Cassie is another amazing location photographer here in the Greenville area, and I absolutely loved working with her sweet family! They snagged the last time slot during my spring mini sessions last weekend, which allowed for some absolutely beautiful lighting coming through the huge magnolia trees in the rose garden. I loved that they trusted me enough to let me put them right in the middle of all of the rose bushes and hedges. I love the look of them being completely surrounded by nature!

Greenville, South Carolina Senior Photographer

As a Greenville, South Carolina Senior Photographer, downtown Greenville at Falls Park is one of my favorite locations for senior portrait photos. Liberty Bridge along with the waterfalls beneath the bridge really show off the beauty of the city of Greenville. As you're getting ready to head to college or start the next chapter of your life, I love for your senior photos to really show off what your time here in Greenville was like to capture the true essence of your senior year of high school. I also love to use the rest of Fall Park on the Reedy River such as the little hidden waterfall past the open green space, and the pretty blooming florals next to the bridge. I also love to use other spots downtown such as the brick buildings by the Peace Center to give a more industrial vibe.

Greenville, South Carolina In Home Lifestyle Newborn Photographer

As a Greenville, South Carolina in home lifestyle newborn photographer, I absolutely LOVE getting to capture the authentic joy and sweet snuggles of the newborn season. It’s even sweeter when I get to photograph a sibling loving on their new baby brother or sister. Being a newborn photographer and being a toddler photographer are two of my absolute favorite part of my job. I love the fun, the chaos, and the spontaneity that toddlers bring to family photos. They are always so full of energy and surprises, and I have lots of tricks up my sleeve to make the session super fun for them including fun games that they’ll love. And toddlers love my family photo sessions because they get lots of love, snuggles, tickles, and they get to play with mom and dad and their siblings! All of a toddler’s favorite things to do!

I love the sweet snuggles of the newborn season. They are so sleepy and squishy. And it’s such an important time in the life of your family. Bonding and snuggling with your newest little family member is one of the sweetest things in this world. I'm so excited to share with you my own family and maternity photos! My husband, Mark, and our daughter, Lily came to White Wall Studios in Taylors, SC while I was photographing my floral backdrop studio mini sessions last weekend. I loved being able to capture the three of us surrounded by beautiful flowers provided by Lenore Lane. I love the high end and elegant feel that fresh flowers add to any family photos, maternity, photos, or newborn photos, and I wanted to be able to capture my own family with the elegant spring feel of the flowers and the simple white studio space. I loved having Kate and her son Bruin in the studio during my spring mini sessions with a floral backdrop last Saturday! Kate was 36 weeks pregnant during these photos, and she looks so stunning. I love being a maternity photographer in Greenville, South Carolina. I absolutely loved taking these sweet mommy and me photos at my spring studio mini sessions on Saturday! Mom, Grandma, and daughter all came along to this sweet family mini session for a fun generational family photo. Daffodil Field Spring Family Photos in Travelers Rest, South Carolina

This sweet mini family photo session last weekend was absolutely perfect. I love working with big families and I LOVE working with toddlers! Finding the joy in the chaos of parenthood and family life is truly my calling. I love capturing that joy and bottling it up into your family photos so that you can truly soak in the love and cherish each sweet stage of life with your family. These were the first family photos of this sweet family after the arrival of their newborn baby girl just three months ago. It was so sweet to capture the siblings' love for the new little baby sister. The way toddlers react to a new sibling with such love and care is one of my favorite things in the world to get to photograph.

We took these photos in the middle of a beautiful Daffodil field in the spring here in Travelers Rest, South Carolina. This open field by a calm pond was the perfect setting for these spring, flower field family photos.

I absolutely LOVED working with this sweet family for their mini studio newborn photo session this past weekend. They really wanted to focus on family photos of their new family of four in order to capture this precious time in the lives of their family. I love capturing those sweet first family photos after the arrival of a new addition, allowing the family to just soak in all the sweet memories and newborn snuggles. I absolutely loved getting to take family photos of this sweet family of three on Saturday during my flower backdrop in studio spring mini sessions! This was my first round of mini sessions for the year, and I would so happy to bring in fresh florals by Lenore Lane for an elegant, high end, and beautiful backdrop for family photos. In Studio First Birthday Photos in Greenville, South Carolina

I had the absolute pleasure of taking first birthday photos for little Mary Wynn on Saturday! Wynnie was so sweet and fun to photograph! After becoming a mama myself, I realize just how important these milestone sessions are. Babies and toddlers grow and change so quickly, so it's so important to capture their little personalities at every single stage. During this quick, 15 minute session, we were able to capture so much! Mom and Dad brought some balloons for the photos, which were perfect against the white walls of the studio. They opted for a teal, navy, pink, and white color scheme. We were able to get tons of photos of just little Wynnie, lots of family photos, and plenty of photos of just mom and baby and just dad and baby. I loved working with these three!

At my in studio spring floral minis over the weekend, I loved having my husband and my daughter stop by for some photos! In Studio Lifestyle Newborn Photos in Greenville, South Carolina

Over the weekend, I hosted my first round of spring mini sessions here in Greenville, South Carolina! For this first set of spring minis, I hosted in studio mini sessions with a floral backdrop, provided by Lenore Lane. For those who may not know, I spent over 7 years in the wedding photography industry before switching my specialty to family photography. One of the things I miss most about weddings is getting to photograph portraits in front of beautiful floral backdrops. I've been dreaming of bringing fresh flowers to my family photography for years! So I was so excited to host my first set of floral backdrop sessions.

Bethany's session was a lifestyle newborn session in my studio. The flowers provided the perfect backdrop for photos of her with her sweet two month old baby. I loved getting to photograph this sweet little mommy and me lifestyle newborn session in the studio!

Our Kitchen Remodel

Our kitchen remodel is finally finished! For those who don’t know the story, our kitchen flooded about a year ago, which forced us to remodel sooner than we were planning to. It ended up being a blessing in disguise, because we absolutely LOVE our new kitchen! I never thought I would just get to design my own kitchen from scratch! We completely redid the entire layout with the help of our contractor, Quebe Flooring, on the design.

We decided on white cabinets for the exterior walls, and a custom sage island. Because of the shape of our kitchen. we went with an L shaped island. This shape is certainly not commonly used for kitchen islands, but it is perfect for our kitchen in order to maximize the space that we have without ending up with any wasted or underutilized areas in the room. We formerly had a small U shaped kitchen with a breakfast nook. By getting rid of the breakfast book, we ended up with double the kitchen size while also adding more seating in the kitchen. We put 5 barstools around the island, but we could definitely fit two more if we needed to.

A common question that we get is about our flooring. It’s actually a wood-look tile, which I highly recommend! Our contractor very strongly suggested that we use tile in the kitchen, because it’s the most durable type of flooring and ideal for an area with water, like kitchens and bathrooms. We really love the look of hardwood floors, which we have in the rest of our home, so the wood-look tile ended up being perfect for us!

For the countertops, we choose our our quartz slab with white and shiny gold veining. It’s very subtle from far away, but noticeable close up, which we love. The backsplash is marble. It was definitely a splurge, but the nice thing about splurging on backsplash, is that is still take up such a small percentage of the overall budget. I really love the look of each piece being unique, which I just couldn’t find in any material besides marble, but I love the backsplash! It’s one of my favorite decisions that we made. Our contractor had the idea to not only take the backsplash all the way to the ceiling, but also wrap it around the wall and door. I love the final look!

Another splurge in this kitchen was the honey bronze cabinet knobs and pulls. I love the look of the long pulls on the big drawers as well as on the pantry doors. For faucets and light fixtures, we went with black. I love the look of the mixed metals in here.

And finally, our favorite part of the kitchen is the little coffee bar area. The light wood floating shelves go perfectly with the look and feel of the kitchen, and are so fun to walk into from the garage. We also love having the second sink there! A second sink in the kitchen is something you don’t know you need until you have one, but then are you so thankful that you have it! It always comes in so handy! Especially for making drinks.

I absolutely loved getting to take branding photos for Heather over the past couple weeks! Heather is an amazing health coach located here in Greenville, South Carolina! I loved getting to know her and capture the essence of her brand! She's going to be using her branding photos for her new website as well as for some google ads that she is going to be running. We started her branding photos this week in my newly renovated kitchen!. It was so much fun getting to take these photos in my own home. I'm so glad it happened to be the exact look Heather wanted! We also included her husband in the photos, since she has a very personal brand and wants her clients to get to know her personal life!

Another big part of Heather's brand is evergreen trees! We found the perfect row of ever green trees for the background of her photos, and I also took some close up photos of the evergreens for some texture photos for her website. We also loved the mountain view in the background of her photos as well. She really wanted an outdoorsy vibe, and I loved how this session turned out for her!

Greenville, South Carolina Branding Photographer

Then, this past weekend, for part two of her branding photos, we took some outdoor photos in a different outfit. This was the perfect time for us to take some more traditional headshots, some fun personality photos, and more photos to align with her brand. Heather really wanted super sunny photos for the outdoor portion of our session. We lucked out with the perfect day and such a beautiful golden hour! We also found some stunning spring blooms.

Downtown Greenville Waterfall Maternity Photos

One of the things I love most about being a photographer in Greenville, South Carolina, is how beautiful our downtown area is! I just don't think there is any city that has a better downtown than Greenville. Falls Park is so stunning, especially in the spring! I love that we have multiple waterfalls right in the middle of downtown! It made the perfect location for Mickey and Nat's maternity photos.

Mickey reached out to me very recently, because she decided last minute that she wanted maternity photos to document her pregnancy with her first baby. I was so happy that I was able to fit her into my schedule last minute. They came to Greenville from Hendersonville just to work with me, which is such a complement! Since these two are an adventurous couple they wanted the pretty waterfalls in their photos.

Spring Bloom Photo Session in Greenville, South Carolina

March and April are such a beautiful time of year here in Greenville, South Carolina. All of the trees and the flowers are blooming, and it's the most perfect time for spring family photos, or spring couple's photos like Heather and Joey's couples photos below. I found the perfect blooming tree with pink blooms for this photo session. We took these photos at golden hour, right before sunset, and I love the beautiful sun glowing through the trees.

Outdoor Photos with Newborn Twins

This photo session this weekend was SO special for so many reasons! First, I got to photograph identical newborn twin boys! What a sweet experience! These babies were premature and in the NICU for a while, so it was such an honor for their parents to trust me to capture their first professional photos as a family of four after getting home from the hospital. This family really wanted outdoor photos, and had a vision of what they wanted to achieve during their photo session, which I love! It can be a challenge to find pretty green spaces outdoors in the middle of winter, but I found the perfect spot with lots of green leaves on the trees at Furman University! Furman is always one of my favorite spots for family photos. One of the many reasons is that you can always find a beautiful spot on the campus, even in the middle of the winter. This was such a fun session that I loved so much!
